  Seems like a dearth of large jackpots this year. I know each jackpot can reset but I don't think 2008 will set any records at this pace.

  Desperate times call for desperate measures people are probably buying more lottery tickets  since costs for almost everything are going up.

  What do you qualify as a large jackpot? There has been a 270M, 135M and 196M Mega Millions Jackpot as well as a 95M (I don't consider this "large either), 275M and 179M jackpots for Powerball in the first six months and the year isn't even half over yet. There's still plenty of time for either to roll past 300M. Not every year can have a record setting jackpot.
