Looks like Big Brown will win as long as his hoof doesnt crack. Use BB on top with Anak Nakal, Macho Again, and Denis of Cork- and hoping Casino Drive finishes out of the money. Good Luck M.M.

Well okay still not ready but I guess I should get started.

      PP#

      1 Big Brown

      3 Macho Again

      4 Dennis of Cork

      5 Casino Drive

My thoughts are flooded right now, especially for a rookie at this.  But, I have to put something on paper.  Big Brown is a beautiful horse and barring any ill fortune should definitely win the race.  But, Eight Belles still rings in my mind.  So, I'm going to bed and figure this out in the morn!

Gotta stick with the champ, Big Brown to win it.

Casino Drive is an enigma.  He has a bruised leg and was unable to gallop today.  They're treating it with alternating hot/cold wraps.  Don't be surprised if he's scratched.  They will not risk injury to this horse as they paid almost a million bucks for him.   (To put that in perspective  Big Brown was purchased for 190K).  He has only two career races...I don't believe any horse has ever won the Belmont with only two starts.  He won the Peter Pan stakes with a 109 speed rating and that was a tough field for a Grade 2 race so he is the real deal.  But.....he hasn't faced Big Brown yet and he hasn't gone further than 1 1/8 miles.  With a sore leg it might be tough for him to make it a mile and a half.

So I like Big Brown, Casino Drive and Denis Of Cork.  If Casino Drive is scratched then I like Tale Of Ekati to round out the top three.

I'm looking forward to Big Brown winning the Triple Crown.

          Good luck everyone!

Rick i think Big Brown is undefeated in five career starts.
I like Big Brown to win also.
I pulled Casino Drive and Icabad Crane in a tavern pool.
I think your right they might scratch Casino drive

I agree with you Rick, I initially picked Tale of Ekati for my long shot to possibly round out the three, but I also picked Icabad Crane  in the Preakness and he came in third - his post position throws me off this time around.

Although I am rallying for Big Brown to win, I believe there may be an upset today with the final tally being

              3  Macho Again

              5  Casino Drive

              1  Big Brown

              good luck all

Casino Drive was indeed scratched.  I believe we'll have our first Triple Crown winner in 30 years today.  I just can't see an upset in the works.

RE:  Casino Drive...I'm glad he was scratched for his sake.   A million dollar horse racing a mile and a half on a sore leg would have been foolish.  Kudos to his connections for making the right choice.

Thanks for the update Rick.  Big Brown should definitely win this one!

I too think as RickG does: I told rick after the FLA. Derby this horse is real...

Big Brown is the next TripleCrown winner. I've stated all along, as long as this horse stays sound, he'll not be denied.

I see the race as such  Big Brown by 5 1/2 lengths ahead at the finish with Denis of cork a neck winner over Tale of Ekati and Anak Nakel.

                                                           1.      Big Brown

                                                           2.      Denis of cork

3/4.      Tale of Ekati / Anak Nakal

                      Good luck to all...!

Had 3 winners out of 6 in the 6 legs of the pick 6.   Benny the Bull, J Be K, and Dancing Forever were the 3 winners.

Played about 30 dollars worth of pick 6 combinations; Bayou's Lassie and Indian Blessing both went to the front in the 2 of the first 5 legs I lost, but they both got passed in mid-stretch.  Had Big Brown in the pick 6 but did not place a win bet on him; played Big Brown/Dennis of Cork; put Guadacanal in a trifecta for the heck of it.  D'Tara was a real odd upset; would of never had him to win.  Goes to show the Belmont distance of 1 1/2 miles is a whole nother race; about 85% of the horses who won the first 2 legs lost the last leg of the triple crown.  It is not because they are less of a horse; it is because breeding plays a role.  Big Brown technically only had marginal genetics; even Dennis of Cork had better genetics for helping with stamina needed for the 1 1/2 miles.

Net result today was I came just shy of 10 bucks ahead; not much but it was fun.
