I want to take an array of random numbers, say 30 x 30 rows/columns, and find frequency/count/reoccurrence of each number in the array.

Not sure how to setup/apply the formulae functions.

Excel has COUNT and FREQUENCY options, but I haven’t been able, capable of avoiding errors. HELP is not much help… and the 3 Disc Video Professor tutorials that came w/ the application don’t cut-it.

I’m working on an idea — promise to share results on LP, if worthy.

Advice, anyone?

Thank you.

In neo-conned Amerika, bank robs you.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be the name of a convenience store, not a govnoment agency.

although i don't know about an array maybe you can develop this "simple" formula from this spreadsheet

      download link

      note:

the file renamed from *.7z into *.zip due to security on LP website, use 7zip software to extract the files and please support the author for further development

      good luck

I did not think to run a search on the function name.

I'm beginning to see the layered depth in LP.

        A debt of gratitude, time*treat!

You might want to try Allen Wyatt's Excel Tips Website.

              Thank you, LottoL... Appreciate it.

Suddenly, the game's bigger than I imagined. Howard's books should be it soon... w/ generous links and materials LP'ers been providing: got my work cut-out. Joss.

Any time someone tries to develop a method to anticipate the outcomes of a lottery drawing, they've chosen a big task.  There are a few LP members who claim to have invested the effort and come close enough to be in the ball park nearly every drawings and it's just a matter of time before they hit a home run and it all pays off.  Good luck to you, maybe someday you'll be making the same claim.

                  Greetings RJOh,

Sorry about not getting back sooner - reading - learning, a piece by piece... haven't had time to bear-down on Excel, yet - seems to be a necessary tool to have in the kit.

Ran across the name Ion Saliu who has Excel based programs.

Now that I've looked deep into the abyss, can't imagine being in a position to make claims anytime soon... cruizin' the forums and threads is edifying; yeah, there are more than a few very bright, dead serious gamers - I'm starting to pick-up on concepts, generic and proprietary terms and definitions. Man! Gotta say it again - I never had a clue how deep the water was, is. I plan on observing for awhile, then play on paper - see how it goes.

If I could pester you with one question? If you were to recommend one book to a beginner, which would it be?

We had a $25 Gift Cert w/ Zon and ordered Gail Howard's Powerball, and Master Guide. Both are informative from a neoPOV, but written with her software in mind... I don't think I'm going there. There's a wide selection in the LPBookStore - don't know where know where to start.

Thx for the Luck blessing, and 7 x 11 back to you.

                  Curtis

Sounds like you're on your way.  As far as books to read, I can't recommend any, most cover stuff you probably already know if you've been playing and hanging around LP for a while.
