Power Ball using computer-generated numbers?

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that the multiplier for Power Ball

Looked like a Computer Generated Number (X2 to X5)

The Multiplier for the First Florida Draw came up X5

This is a little disturbing because they maybe testing the waters for a full computer-generated draw.

(It looked like they did the normal white balls and red powerball mechanical drawing)

I hope they do not go to All computer-generated numbers  I will stop playing the Power Ball and justPlay Mega Millions.

I only trust the mechanical drawing (real balls)

I am concerned about this also, and I don't see a lot of discussion going on about it.....

      On another post here called
[Powerball Machine Number and Ball Set]

Someone has mentioned Powerball test draw data.
Go to Powerball's website and click on [Powerball Numbers]

then go down to a box that says
"Every attempt is made to ensure that this list of numbers is accurate,..."
click on the small red ball at the bottom of the text box

You will now download a small Document called something like [testpb.doc]

      Open the Document [testpb.doc]
      Now after Date 01/03/09
      Starting on Draw Date 01/07/09
      POWERBALL NUMBERS DRAWN 5/59 + 1/39
When you open it you will notice that there is no test data (Pre-test or Post-test) for the Power Play option.
Just a X5 for the Main Draw.
This leads me to believe that the Power Play Option is now Computer Generated.

You can click on the video link on Powerball Numbers and see the draw also.

I thought they use some kind of wheel, maybe with pegs and a rubber ball? I don't get to see the live drawings; can you show me somewhere to get a video replay?

My bigger concern is this: when I played in PA recently, they have these new terminals. I marked Advance Draws on some tickets and not others. ALL of them have a Start Date of FEB. 25!!! Especially if you play in PA you have to check all your tickets!!! You might think you won and then at Lottery HQ a rude awakening!

        What they have printed:

        1 Draw Ticket: Wed 25-Feb-2009

10 Draw Ticket: Wed 25-Feb-2009 Thru Sat 28-Mar-2009

5 Draw Ticket: Wed 25-Feb-2009 Thru Wed 11-Mar-2009.

Maybe it's a problem on that one terminal. Maybe the printed date is wrong but the tickets are actually for January? Or maybe they screwed up royally when they updated terminal software for the new matrix? Maybe only in PA or is it everywhere? Always check the DATE on your ticket, even on these it puts the time you visited the terminal but the draw dates are different!!!

On  the  [Powerball Numbers]  page  there  are  several  links  under

The  link  for  the  test draws is(tiny  red  ball)

          http://www.powerball.com/powerball/testpb.doc

The  link  for  the  Videos  is

You  will  need  Windows  Media  Player or  an  alternative  player that can handle .asf  files

Like  VLC  if  you  use  Linux

Now  the  tickets  dated  ahead  like that  I  have  never  seen before.

Powerball tickes here in TN are fine.

It  looks  like  that  terminal  or computer  system  PA  uses  has  a  date  error.

I  would  try  another  single  play ticket  at  different  store  terminal.

Your  lottery  headquarters  should  be notified about that.

Although  the  power  play  option  is  automatically   a  X5  for  those  who  match  the  first

5  balls  the  other  lower prizes  are  unfairly  done  now   with   computer  generated  power  play.

          Smile

all i know is that pennsylvania wins the most 5 whiteball draws in pb,probably because they're half way across usa.
