Hi !

Little historic. Just being retired. Having earn some good amounts at the loteries over the years.

But now having time to look at every angle my favorite play, which is "banco" here in Quebec, a sort of what they call "keno" in various game in US. The banco have a field of 70 numbers. Most of time I play 4 numbers, what give 100.$ as earn for a perfect play, be a 4/4 .  I do work with the program LMVB4.0 but just notice recently that the program did not make these kind of calculation. And it it too long to manualy calcul it.

But now i am looking for the mathematic formula to calcul "how many combination could be done with numbers 1 to 16 and totalizing the sum of 26 and this just for instance. Because i would do the work with various sums.

If somebody knows that formula or could refer me to a site when i could catch this formula , i would appreciate very much. The best would be to get a program that will effectively display all the combinations found. So if you could refer me such program i will greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance and good luck to all of you with your favorite game.

P.S: I am of french speaking, so don't be to hard if i do not have the exact expression or word to exprime my thinking.

Rayal.

I had posted some software I created a few weeks back, which should do some of what you are asking.  Feel free to give it a test.

I did upload your little program which from informations given (as per the display) looks to be very useful. But could not install it. I read about some issues reported in your thread and so i had also installed the windows installer 3.1 , but same i could not open the program. I hope there will be a version that will be easier to instal.

Have good time with your work on it.

Yes I will have to work on an installer package for the program.  It won't take long, just have to get around to it this week sometime.  I will keep you posted.

          Thank Stew12,

Appreciate very much your follow up. I am in haste to experience how usefull it could be. Presently I work with LMVB4.0 which program you surely know and which i like very much . But just realize that there are few "bugs" with some features or functions it offers and reported to the author that informs it should be corrected  but in an unknown future following  "healthy issue".

So just awaiting your last release. Have good time , and thanks again,

          Rayal

I've never done anything with sums for Keno, even though I've been tempted to do so at times. The main problem is with the sheer number of possibilities in the game. Even in a 20/70 matrix there are 161,884,603,662,657,876 possible combinations, while in the more common 20/80 matrix, there are 3,535,316,142,212,174,320 possible combinations. In the 20/70 game sums range from 210 to 1,210, in the 20/80 game the sums range from 210 to 1,410. Given this, the most common sum in the 20/70 game would be 710 and, in the 20/80 game, 810.

If, however, you're only concerned with the sum of the 10 numbers you're going to choose, that makes the task relatively easier. In the 20/70 game there are 396,704,524,216 different 10-number possibilities, in the 20/80 game there are 1,646,492,110,120. In the 20/70 game sums of these can range from 55 to 655, with the most common sum being 355. In the 20/80 game sums of these can range from 55 to 755, with the most common sum being 405.

There would have to be a lot of computer time expended to come up with the exact figures, and that's the main drawback for me.

                Sad Cheers
                John,
You perfectly right when writing about the to numberous possibilities about sums , particulary with a game that has 70 numbers in its field. So like any lottery game you have to see the best pattern to increase your odds. So why i do bet mostly not exceeding 6 numbers which worth  1,000.$ for a perfect match 6/6  or 25.$ for a 5/6 , still not bad to refund oftently what you spend in tickets, my average being 5 tickets a day. Here the cost is 1.$ by play and a coupon afford you to play 5 plays. So like any game lottery you must study various patterns to well know the best averages coming. I did it, and beleive me quite detailed since i play "banco" around 1989. Just for instance the average sum for the first 4 positions is 32, when the minimum is 10, and if you well follow the various cicles for the unities (1-9), and various ten , the ten, the twenty, thirty etc..your chances will still grow, etc..Now if you focus your play with a specific "target" or if you want a "key", like expecting the number (2) for like you know many reasons, and looking the historic with said number et so on.. you still increase your odds to get a 4/4 . At first with any knowledge how to proceed you chance is limited to 1/189 but applying some "theories" to increase your odds are coming pretty hight. What is funny with this lottery is that you can put 10.$ on play, so it gives you 1,000.$ when you succeed in a perfect match of 4/4. My best year is having won 9 times 1,000.$ , 9,000.$ that way. If you play now the 6/6 you proceed the same way. The odd for the 6/6 is 1/3,830 but considerably increase when you still follow , step by step, the process to increase your odds. It is as far i am concerned the best lottery where your odds are so interesting if you compare for instance to the 6/49 where your odds are near 1/14 millions. Just make a study on the half of the field, it means to play only number 1 up 35, cutting half the total field. You will be surprised  of your various discoveries and specifically . Quite far from what could be the first price at a 6/49 game but also quite far for what it give you in probability of winning. The "trap" with the big lottery like 6/49 is to be to much attracted by the "big price" . The "jack pot" mostlt offers by a 6/49 game make people "blind", cupidity is there the "biggest trap" , in fact the lottery affair well know it and play on it, it just to be hoist with one's own petard " . So why i prefer to play "banco" for consistently wins , not big, but enough to realy to continue playing without "paying" because in "profit" . This doesn't prevent to play sometimes for a big game and particularly when the 6/49 reachs very big "jack pot", why not, the chance still remain there.  Anyway everything remains a personal choice, and mine was clearly directed by my various searches and discoveries with the banco, which remain my favorite game and for reasons exposed here above, and in summarise when i declare to be an usual winner. And now I am retired, so my studies will be intensified about my favorite game, same if it just to catch an additional information that could increase of 5-10% my odds, which will be still "SUPER" . And all that, does not mean to put away that a "big price" is coming for me, my dream like any players.

                For the best to everyone,

                Rayal.

                Wink

Since you play the Banco game with a 20/70 matrix I'll confine my comments in this thread to that game only.

There are 131,115,985 different 6-number combinations available. In each 20-number draw there will be 38,760 combinations that will match 6/6. Odds of hitting this bet are 1::3,382.77.

Sums of any 6-number combination will range from 21 to 405, with the midpoint, 213, being the most common. I've already done a sums chart on a 6/70 lottery matrix, and that would yield the same results here. Link:

                      Thank you Johnph77

Very interesting chart. But the main thing for an advertised player is to  do not become confused with all statistics, patterns etc for all the yield of a particular lottery. To avoid to become too lost, so why must be make a choice and be concentrated on it. For the banco with is 70 field numbers, and particularly because i play most oftently a 6 spot numbers, i reduce my field to a maximum of 20 numbers when i target the number 1, a maximum of 24 numbers when i target the number 2 etc.. an from it targetting some sums more than others, if more expected.  Always to reduce the field , normaly i don't to over the target number 5. And when spotting 4 numbers it is decreasing as well the field of numbers to play and so on. Various observations (one of the master key) regarding historic or past results and pattern used are helping so well to make some good 4/4 , 5/5 and sometimes a nice 6/6 . Avoid to become confusing  with all numbers that could contain a game like Banco (70 numbers) or  Keno with its 80 numbers instead 70), invite for sure any experienced player to reduce the field and to keep going on one track rather than two or more . It just like to try to follow 2 rabbits rather than one, in that way the hunter increase it chance to catch one, being concentrate on its target. Making various "trap" with (6) numbers or less , a good mix with "hot+cold+medium and friends numbers" are one part of the success. As far I am concerned  you definitly not have to go too far in studying lottery tips to get success. But if success for one it to get the jackpot with a 10/20 numbers, then GOOD LUCK than ever, because this result more than PURE LUCK  same if  you studdy any technic or strategies.  One time i did have this kind of luck, having have well guessed (helped for sure with my various statistics on the follow up of the various numbers) 14 numbers on a total of 14 numbers that i wheeled, yes a 14/14 . For sure all my combinations 4/4 , 5/5, and 6/6 were right because wheeled from these good 14 numbers. It happen 6 years ago and did not succeed again this own exploit. If i had put on a slip a spot of 10 number, yes the "jackpot" was there. This to conclude that it is a game, and remains a play ! And if it is a big risk when you play for the jackpot it is also a "risk" when you do not play for it when your  choiced numbers are all displayed on the board. Main thing is that sort of hobby keep you enjoy like others will play with cross-word, not more !  Finally i hope that STEW 12 will be back with his last release regarding it wheeled system, it help for sure when you look for specific target of sum and all combinations being associated.

                        To Stew12
I have tried to write through the personal board, but without success.
Indeed, just realize that messages i have sent you today are not displayed. Don't know why ? But i think you cannot share "big" here from personal board, cannot you ? Anyway, regarding your wheeling system, the completion will be your time. Time like in lotto is our best allied, so when it will be ready, it will be just the best time, that's all !

Have a good time ! Cheers
