Good evening family.  I don't want to sound stupid or anything but can someone explain to me what a root sum is?

For example the number 123 add the digits together, the root sum is 6

Look on the chart I posted and for the row that 123 is in, all of the numbers that have a root sum of 6, they are listed in the same row.

So for 999, add the digits together, the root sum is 27.

if i am correct this is how you can explain the difference between a sum and a root sum

999   the sum is 27 but the root sum would be 2+7=9 so that 9 is the root sum

It is no problem at all.  I used to get it confused when I would see people say play the sum or the root sum.  All that I have learned on here you would think I could hit more #'s but I always seem to forget when it comes time to fill out one of those playslips.....forgot to play 090 for tonight and really don't want to go back to the store.

Elmozoe is correct so on the chart I posted, the sum  number is posted at the beginning of each line and the root sum is at the end Banner.

The # at the end of the chart is how many different combinations of #'s equal to the sum like the beginning of 999 has 27 in front of it and at the end on the right is how many 3digit #'s you play to get the sum of 999.  There is only one 3digit # you can play that equals the sum of 27 and that is 999

It bothers me bc 009 fell on 10/08/2007 and with my luck it will show up since I forgot to play it back from midday and of course it is the 8th of the month.
