This thread is to determine who's doing what, why they're doing it, and just how serious they are about doing it. Nothing trick here. As usual, it's designed to make you think about what you do with your money and, more importantly, what it does for you.

Yeah, I believe a fair percentage of players started out in this same way including myself. Actually, my dad got me going on this when he presented ways of getting the hit with a reasonable play list. Like you, I got excited about the payout when I saw what the cost was for me to be successful at it. The rest is history as I've devoted myself to these games full time because it's very well worth the effort.
I do appreciate you taking the time to share a few honest thoughts regarding this thread. It's amazing how the "clique" works in this forum as certain people like to only visit and post remarks to only certain "people's" threads which is fine. However, this does tend to expose a lot about their character and I'll tell you why so you can check it out for yourself.
This is designed to get people to think and talk openly about realistic goals in relation to where they are now. But, it's not to say that noone has goals or plans, either. It's proven, though, that talking about such realistic things among others inspires one to strive harder towards reaching that goal.
If you'll go and look elsewhere in this forum here's where you'll find the general concensus likes to hang out: "Hey everybody, the moon, Mars and Earth are suppose to line up with each other!! Does this mean that triples are about to start happening and should I play only triples"???
Such a topic will generate 15,999 views and half as many "serious" responses. I mean, these people will be actually serious about this, too. Start an intelligent thread in an effort to actually try and help people get better and more efficient and you can hear a mouse piss on a cotton ball. It truly supports that old saying of how people would rather hear a lie than the truth...

Matchmaker,
I would like to make this a business/profit maker. Some weeks I'm dead on and can make a nice little profit, other weeks I go dry. I could make more than I do but I change my numbers from drawing to drawing and I miss out on a lot of hits because of this. I tell myself that I'm going to stick with a group of numbers but then I always change them and miss out on getting a hit. I would like to get more hits with 10 numbers or less. I don't like to play a lot of numbers, I don't want to spend more than $5 per drawing if possible. But you miss out on a lot when you narrow it down to just 5 numbers. If I could just figure out when my number is going to hit, I would like to be able to put more money on "onenumber" and get a bigger hit.

as far as pick 3, it was my first game to play and with the help of a lot of nice people here was fun. my problem is i budget and it's hard to win with a $10 limit per game. seems like i was always playing pick 2 of 3 though.
i'm only playing pick 3 with "paper & pencil" now i devote my budget to texas cash five and two step.
but if i had to choose from your choices, i would go with the "fun" answer. my few wins were put back into the lotto kitty!

It's good to see that you do have an idea of the potential available here and that you're also venturing into the business side of it. Sticking with a group of numbers has its' advantages as does changing your numbers with the former requiring enough patience for "your" numbers to get drawn again. Changing them allows you to "follow" the numerical changes with the possibility of hitting much sooner.
Maybe you could think about just saving up that $5 and playing really good on a "give me" draw. This will give you a big chunk of the house's money to play with for a while and if you just wait for another "give me" draw that will multiply. You'll never have to use your money this way and even if you do lose, it's the house's money and not onenumber's dough. Just something to ponder on. Thanks for your comment!!

There's nothing wrong with playing for fun as long as you're having fun and it's not hurting you financially. Your mindset is the important thing here as you know what to expect based on what you do. Texas Cash Five and Two Step are great games to play and I wish you success with them! However, like I told onenumber, try saving up a few of those $10 bills and put together a really good set of numbers for one of those "give me" draws. Before you actually play, do some tracking and conduct "dry runs". If you see where you can hit with a particular formation then just wait for that style of formation to show up again.
You can get your money back from kitty...just gotta know how to work it. Trust me. Thanks for the post!!!

Right now I play for fun as i'm still learning. I would love to venture into the business side one day when i'm more educated.
There are many styles of playing Pick 3 but, it's good to find one thing the numbers have in common frequently and just cater to that type of draw. Tell me what you're trying to do and I can tell you how to get there both effectively and efficiently.

Right now I take a tic tac and another workout to compare. I pick a bunch of numbers to try to hit the right one. I am still playing with it.

Okay, here's what we'll do today. I'll put together a half scale number set and let you sift through them for what you might like. Now, they will be for the str8 hit but, you can toss it up to your liking okay. This will be fun because I've been working on very small numbers sets lately to determine consistecy percentages based on directional values. Check back in about an hour and they'll be for your stomping ground in NC.

Let's analyze things. First of all, the half scale strategy did work but, I applied it on the wrong end of the scale in positions (2) and (3). In position (1), the scale was correct but, I missed on my non-consecutive numerals. Directional values are neither easy nor consistent and this is what I've really been working on lately. A compound system is needed to make this system work, as it will work, because the values have to change their positioning at some point.
This type of play will produce lots of profit in one hit but, a surplus is needed to "weather the storm" until it does produce. I'm developing it for people that like to play small sets of numbers. However, a reasonable initial investment would be needed to get the primary hit and payout so that one could cut way back on the next couple of plays and apply directional values for the big hit.
I'm still trying to get a grip on the play/hit percentile so that the surplus will suffice until the hit is obtained. It can be very efficient but, the DV's are going to weigh very heavily and be tricky. I will be trying this again later tonight with NC again because I really want to learn when and how to apply what. On another note, my new 400 number playset produced the str8 hit as did my 600 set but, the 600 isn't good for local playing. The 400 set produces a clean $100 profit @ $1.00/number for state wagering and (4) times that online @ 1.00/number.
