Hello, I am new to the forum and am posting to 'pick a bone' with the Illinois Lottery.
A few weeks ago, when checking remaining top prizes for the Illinois Lottery, I noticed the $5 Monopoly Scratcher had several top prizes left. I purchased many of the tickets in my area, but did not win any of the top prizes. I held onto the notion of winning, and week after week, the top prizes were updated, and the same amount of prizes were still posted.
Today, after not being able to find the ticket anywhere in my area, I called the Illinois Lottery, and a very snooty woman informed me that the ticket is gone and pulled out of all stores. This doesn't seem fair at all, seeing as how there were over $250,000 left in top prizes.
Can anyone add any insight to this? I know the ticket was old and becoming unpopular, but that much money left in winners just disapearing seems absurd to me..
Also, why is the ticket still listed on the Illinois Lottery website 'Prizes Remaining Section" if it not possible to even buy it?
