Is there anyone out there who thinks that, we have numbers that are just but- ugly, and then we have the real pretty ones,  I had this discussion with a friend to me if my number comes out suddenly it is the most Beautifull number that I have ever seen!!!  He is of the opinion that no matter if they come out, he would say "tha's an ugly number"

forget what "they" say about youWhat you say about you?...

Now, does it count??

I'm not too crazy about 666, myself.

A couple of months ago, the Daily 3 number hit: 000; which meant only straight box win; no box or straight/box winners--very bad/ugly number to hit. Hope it doesn't again!!!  However, I consider the beautiful numbers are the ones I play everydayDance

All numbers are ugly .... unless they match the ones on my ticket. Wink

                  rdgrnr,

I know what you mean about trip sixes, the MOTB. (The Chinese think that's a lucky number, by the way).

I worked at the then Union Plaza in Vegas and after work sometimes we'd go to the Horshoe for the breakfast special.

In casinos you always have a  name badge and when you're not wearing it carry it with you.

Well, when we went to the cashier one of the Supervisors with us bill came to $6.66. The cashier rang it up and said, "And I'll bet your name is Damian." Well, he pulls his name badge out, "Live it UP - Damian" and she screamed.

                  Scared

                  Re: "Ugly and pretty" numbers

8 is the financial number. Glynic McCants, the numbers lady says carry an 8 with you, put opne in your wallet.

13 of course is unlucky, but that's kind of silly for Americans. 13 colonies, 13 stripes on the flag, 13 spears in the eagle's claw on paper currency, etc....

In the Orient 4 is unlucky, you often wont find flor marked the 4th floor.

                  1 +3 = 4!

The reason for no 4 is in Chiese 4, sa, also means death.

You won't find too many Japanese race cars numbered 42. Once again, 4 -2 comes out to you die.

17 is considered unlucky in Italy, I don't know why but it is. But if you track jackpot games it seems to come up an awful lot of times.

45 is the "master number" because it is the sum of all the numbers 1 through 9.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                  Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I tend to like prime numbers, and four-digit numbers with three different even numbers and ending with a 1 (if it's a prime number, that's even better [I believe 2861 is the first such prime]).  I also like numbers that end with 3 and aren't divisible by 3 (again, a prime is even better).  I like combinations of 1s and 9s, and three-digit numbers with a 1, a 3, and a 9.  I like four-digit numbers that go 0-0-(not 0)-0.  I like four-digit numbers made of two sets of two-digit prime numbers.  I like 255 and 366 (a two-digit square followed by its square root, which is the same as the ones digit of the square).  I like 180 and 360, for geometrical reasons; I also like 359 and 361, probably for similar reasons.  I like 181, but not 179, probably because 181 is the same upside-down or backward (rotated 180 degrees about either a horizontal or vertical axis through the respective center, or rotated on the plane on which it's written).  I like 001 or 010.

In pick 4 I play straight/box because the straight odds are too much against me.  In pick 3 I always play straight, because I don't want to win if the numbers are in the wrong order.  I see the pick 3 number as a three digit number, such as "one hundred forty-five," not as three one-digit numbers, a 1, a 4, and a 5.  Three is the highest number of things I can count at once.  I can see one thing, or two, or three, but if there are four I see two pair, if there are five I see three and two, etc.  I think this is why I want my pick 3 numbers exact.

This isn't necessarily for winning; it's more aesthetic or perceptual.  I've never played any of those numbers.  Maybe I should.

For some reason, I seem to like split pair numbers, especially 646. For some reason, I don't like the numbers 546, 846, and 933 very much.

I like the number 000, not because it's pretty, but because it's just such a funny number. I dislike any number that is not a birthday number but, if they had drawn one number different, then it would have been a birthday number. These include 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 008, 009, 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 700, 800, 900, 431, 631, and 931. I did not include 007 because of its association with James Bond, 500 because that number won in New Jersey on the day I was born, and 230 and 231 because that is how I condense December 30 and December 31 into Pick-3 numbers (by taking off the initial 1).

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

Wow Hermanus104! Who knew people actually had love affairs with particular numbers?  Although I must addmit that 666 is not a number I gravitate to. and "888" looks like three gossiping women to me, however one "8" is kind of cute. "4",  looks like it can't make up it's mind which direction it wants to go, I dislike indecisiveness.  I like the number "I"  it's straight, direct and to the point.

forget what "they" say about youWhat you say about you?...

What I meant is that the third digit is anything other than 0, such as 0010 or 0020 and so on to 0090 (which is my favorite).
