The Texas Lottery Commission has approved the rules which officially authorizes the sale of Powerball
tickets beginning as early as Jan. 31, for the Feb. 1 PB drawing.

Vist the TLC website to read the news release.

I believe TX might be the first MegaMillion state to offer both games.

Good info for those like me who haven't paid much attention to the lotto's lately!

I find it interesting that Texas is allowing MM and PB games to coexist.
I guess its one step closer to a PB and MM merger into a national lotto.

What is more interesting to me is that it appears Texas and Georgia will
be participating in the PB game by the end of the month with no matrix
    changes to the game.

I guess the last matrix change to PB with odds of  one in 195,249,054
was geared toward adding additional states to the PB lotto!

    Best of Luck!

Apparently as of January 31 2010, several MM states will offer PB and several PB states will offer MM. So far TX, OK, AR, GA,  and WI will sell both as of this date. There may be other states starting on this date as well (not sure), while others (NYand NJ I believe), will start selling tickets for both games later this year. I for one am looking forward to playing PB in TX.

I was really looking forward to playing PB. I may just play either MM or PB based on which game has the highest jackpot at the time, as I play Lotto and 2 Step also.

tennessee reporting in, jan 31st, i emailed my tn lotto to try and get the lastest news form them,

            got this

Our target date for implementation of Mega Millions is January 31

but when that date is confirmed it will be announced to the media and posted on our website.

We are excited about being able to bring this game to Tennessee Lottery players.

a ton of pb states will join MM  just in time for the MM draw on feb 2nd

and then all the mm states will join PB just in time for draw on  feb 3rd

todd should make a countdown to Feb LOL

.2 national scale lotto's  are about to be born,

let the jackpots roll to record highs!

am sure once both are sitting sells records,

the few holdout states will just join the rest of us

i also think 2 national lottos will do us all good

,we sure have competition spiritand maybe that even get pb to remove their stupid jackpot cap

,but thats just wishful thinking on my part
