Lotto is the only thing available for me where I am now. Well, sinece I don't go to river boat casinos.
When I lived in Vagas I played video keno and live keno and bet baseball. Strictly small time $10 bets but in baseball there's no pointspread like football and basketball. In baseball you just need to pick the winner and the odds are posted as a money line.
It looks like this;
Boston - 1.65
Detroit + 1.45
Using $10 bets this means you would have to bet $16.50 on Boston to win $10, while a $10 bet on Detroit would win $14.50
The real fun was to bet money line parlays, two or three teams. If you caught three undergdogs (common in baseball) this is what a $10 bet could do.
Now you have $24.50
Another team comes in at +1.10
That wins $26.95 so now you have $51.45
And say you caught one more dog with that, +1.15
So your $10 turned into $110.61
The betting public is crazy about football, which is a bookie's dream.
A guy a worked with had a girl friend working as an auditor for a sports book in a fairly good sized casino and over the course of an entire baseballl season the sports book won $50 on baseball.
Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.
There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
