I've always enjoyed the lottery.  The only other form of gambling I participate in is playing the slots once in a while - I tend to over-spend when I play slots.  What other forms of gambling do you all like?  Is the lottery your favorite type of gambling?

Other than Lottery, I don't gamble  I hate losing money especially when  it instantanious like casino games and machines.  I'd rather play the lottery so I can at least marinate over my dreams for a few days or at least a few hours like in Fantasy.

But my mother LOVED the casinoes and bingo.  Before she died she would go to either bingo or the  indian casinoes more often than I can remember.  So last month I had a great idea,  as a tribute to her,  after keeping her ashes in a dark room of my home,  I drove  over 100 miles and scattered her ashes in the landscape of her favorite casino then left her picture at one of her favorite quarter machines inside.  I felt like I was giving her eternal excitment at her favorite place.  My sisters were okay with my doing that but laughed at my gesture nontheless.  I still think my mom would love that.

That is soooooo awesome.  I'd love to have someone around to take the time to do something thoughtful like that after I'm gone!

Lotto is the only thing available for me where I am now. Well, sinece I don't go to river boat casinos.

When I lived in Vagas I played video keno and live keno and bet baseball. Strictly small time $10 bets but in baseball there's no pointspread like football and basketball. In baseball you just need to pick the winner and the odds are posted as a money line.

            It looks like this;

            Boston - 1.65

            Detroit + 1.45

Using $10 bets this means you would have to bet $16.50 on Boston to win $10, while a $10 bet on Detroit would win $14.50

The real fun was to bet money line parlays, two or three teams. If you caught three undergdogs (common in baseball) this is what a $10 bet could do.

            Detroit +14.50

            Now you have $24.50

Another team comes in at +1.10

That wins $26.95 so now you have $51.45

And say you caught one more dog with that, +1.15

            Pays $59.16

So your $10 turned into $110.61

The betting public is crazy about football, which is a bookie's dream.

A guy a worked with had a girl friend working as an auditor for a sports book in a fairly good sized casino and over the course of an entire baseballl season the sports book won $50 on baseball.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

            Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I stick pretty much with the lottery.

I used to play the shake-a-day at a bar I used to go to. That's where you throw a buck in the bucket once a day and it builds up until somebody rolls five of a kind dice on one roll and wins the whole thing. Well, it built up to about $1,200 and a very odd thing happened. The bartender's mother came in one day and won it when there was nobody else in the bar but the two of them. Nobody had ever seen his mother in the bar before and didn't know if he even had a mother living. Funny how lucky people can get when nobody's around. I didn't play that game anymore after that.

I don't even play the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes cuz I don't think they have 4 wheel drive on that winner's van.

So that and the fact that I don't have any casinos nearby pretty much makes the lottery the only game in town for me (even though I don't have a town nearby either).

I really enjoy the lottery however, I like to go the casinos every now and then; i.e. indian since it is closer than Las Vegas. Dance

I like playing in casino but only if non smoking. What a difference that made to be able to breathe.
