Subtitle - A slow news day is actually a good thing.
I have always been a voracious reader. It should not surprise anyone that I now love to mull my way through the net and it's daily dose of what's news out there in the world. In reality, reading as a child probably saved my sanity, if not my life. Too much of a good thing though can just be too much.
Unfortunately, living in this instant media age, there is always the possibility of too much. Too much darkness, despair, death, heartache, not to mention the level of intensity being ramped up on everything. The word 'extreme' just does not cover it anymore. We now watch our human counterparts live, die, and everything in between from the comfort of the recliner. Thank goodness there is an off and/or mute button on the remote, not to mention the ability to simply change the channel.
While I truly believe that synchronicity requires a fairly constant stream of new information and experiences, one of the ways to shut down intuition is with information overload. The more in, the further you may be taken away from what you are seeking. This post came to me today as I was scanning headlines only to find one blaring the earth-shattering news that a famous woman wore a hair scrunchie and basically might have committed fashion suicide. I actually took the time to read the article. I think I've found a little perspective mulling over whether one of the most beautiful women in the world will remain so tomorrow because she wore a small ring of elastic covered with fabric as a hair accessory today.
It takes lots of things to garner good intuitive ability. An active, inquisitive, and open mind does not hurt, especially when combined with knowing your garbage in/garbage out limits. Fantasy, make believe, music, or the fictional world of a favorite author give the intuitive brain time to find its equilibrium. When was the last time you made a point of actually taking time to fantasize or dream for a few minutes about what you really wish for? I don't mean momentary images that flash of a car or beautiful man or woman, but rather a start to finish (or unfinished) fantasy that goes where you need it to go to find relief from the stress in your world.
Here's wishing you a slow news day once in a while. J
