I can't wait to be able to play  us lotteries online.  In the UK for instance, you can purchase your lottery tickets through the internet legally.  I feel that people in finance, those that deal with stocks are fighting hard to prevent that from happening.  Can you imagine testing your lottery strategy and just punch a button and play your numbers. But online lottery purchases might be coming soon, since most states want to compete for our tax dollars.I'm willing to give my tax dollar to any state that would allow me to buy my tickets online instead of going to a store clerk. The state would also have to offer great odds of winning.

Yes, i know that you can buy lottery tickets online from sindicates but i don't trust them with my money.I also know that must states offer subscription services.  I wish us lotteries to allow us to buy tickets online for any state drawing.

Welcome to LP.  Regarding some of the threads you're starting in the Jackpot Forum, you might want to use the Search function under Forums Header to read some of those threads.  You can add comments to that thread if it's still open which will bump the thread to the top for further discussion.

Forgot to add you're welcome to join in Maddog's MM and PB Challenges.  We're limited to 12 white balls and 4 gold or red balls.  Please put all your challenge numbers in chronological order to make it easier for Maddog to compute winners.  Good luck!

    Good luck to everyone!

Thanks.  By the way can you please explain what is the Maddog's mega millions and powerball challenges? How did it start and why and what is its purpose?

When both PB and MM were only sold in a few states, buying them on line was a good alternate to traveling out of state to buy them but now that both are becoming available in most states at the local convenience stores and gas stations, what is the advantage of buying them on line?

The purpose of the Maddog challenges are the same as the Prediction Board, it's a forum for LP members to demonstrate their skills for picking MM and PB winning numbers.  There use to be more of them and Maddog's is the only one still around.

Lot of players like to join LP to brag about their skills or systems for picking winning numbers. Such challenges and the prediction board allow them back up their bragging with facts.  And then there those who just enjoy the challenge of picking lottery winners without investing any real money.

You forgot to mention that fja gives PB and MM Challenge stats and some of the predictors are pretty consistent. I'm seriously considering playing one of the challenge predictions using a 3 if 4 of 12 number wheel for $12. Considering the QPs I've been getting, it can't do any worse!

If you live in England then buying PB and MM tickets on line make sense.  You guys have syndicates over there that buy lottery tickets, don't you?  I've read about them but they never made sense for my type of playing.  Good luck to you.

                        THRIFTY,

I doubt any state will ever allow lotto tickets to be bought online.  Political pressure from constituents would never allow it.  Also, politicians themselves know they would eventually be faced with horror stories of how people gambled their lives away on the lotto.  Finally, the only practical way to buy anything online is to use credit cards.  Again, you have the danger of people gambling their lives away using CC's.  This is why most, if not all, states do not allow you to use CC's to buy lotto tickets.

If any state allows people to buy lotto tickets at retailers via CC's, feel free to correct me.  I'd be interested to know.

The problem with selling lottery tickets on line is who gets to tax the winnings, not concerns about people gambling their lives away.  States are adding multi-states lotteries to their local games to keep gambling monies in their states for taxing rather than losing it to neighboring states.

RJOH, I'm from new york city. I just happen to know England sells lottery tickets online. I have also realized that selling lottery tickets online is not good a idea after reading LP players answers to my post.  Like they say is always good to see things from everybody point of view. Thanks everybody for your input.

That was guesser take on your situation.

I think if they ever come up with a way to track online lottery tickets sales and winnings so they can be taxed by the states of origin and the federal government then they may make buying them that way legal and you won't have to buy them from the local retailers.

Until then you can probably continue to buy foreign lottery tickets online and include those winnings on your tax forms and be legal.
