The Description of the Mystical ForumPrev TopicNext Topic

Hello folks,I wanted to talk about something that many might see as a trivial thing; but I feelit is very important. It concerns how the Mystical Forum is described:"The opposite of scientific and mathematical, mystical discussion centers on topicssuch as meditation, visualization, dreams, psychic powers, astrology, metaphysical, and the supernatural."I believe this is a completely inaccurate description of mystical phenomena. Thebig mistake is in the word "opposite."We have been LED to believe that mystics and science are opposites. But this iscompletely false. GENUINE mystics, science, and mathematics are stronglyintertwined.Let me give some examples first and then refer folks to some great resources. One of the examples mentioned in the description is "astrology." In the West, astrology is somewhat simplified. But in India, the arcane science of VedicAstrology depends VERY heavily on mathematical calculations. How can you sayastrology is the "opposite" of mathematics?Another example... recently, the mainstream quantum physics is talking aboutconcepts that sound very similar to the ideas philosophers and mystics talked aboutsince ancient times. This concerns the very nature of reality and time, forexamples.Another example... "metaphysical" simply means "beyond the physical." Even quantumphysics now talks about dimensions that exists beyond the physical 3D world thatmany of us believe is all that exists.Yet another example... The word "supernatural" means "beyond nature." But what inthe Universe can be beyond nature? Everything that exists within the Universe, fromthe trees to the birds to the oceans to the stars to human beings to ghosts toaliens to dreams to psychic phenonema ALL exist within the Universe, and thereforewithin nature. And science is an attempt to study and understand the universe andnature, is it not? Therefore, there is no such thing as "supernatural."I sincerely believe, therefore, that the words "opposite of scientific andmathematical" should be REMOVED from the description of the Mystical Forum.Otherwise, it's just plain false. At the bottom are a couple web sites withinformation to absorb. Please don't just brush it aside because it sounds "weird"or "fringe" at first. EVERY new discovery looks that way at first. It is importantto keep an open mind. We are intelligent people here, aren't we? So let's takethese things seriously...On the above sites, you will see scientific and mystical ideas being discussed inthe manner they SHOULD be discussed -- NOT mutually exclusive of each other, but asintertwined with each other. I realize that this is not the mainstream view ofmasses. Well, historically, the majority has almost always been WRONG about mostmajor things anyway -- so no surprise there! We need change our paradigm. So why is this important as far as winning the lottery is concerned? Well, Ibelieve we can use science, mathematics, and mysticism to their fullest potentialonly if all these subjects are treated with the same amount of respect and interest, and as inter-disciplinary subjects rather than compartmentalized subjects. How weperceive these subject matters is more important than we often realize.
Hello folks,
I wanted to talk about something that many might see as a trivial thing; but I feel it is very important. It concerns how the Mystical Forum is described:"The opposite of scientific and mathematical, mystical discussion centers on topics such as meditation, visualization, dreams, psychic powers, astrology, metaphysical, and the supernatural."
I believe this is a completely inaccurate description of mystical phenomena. The big mistake is in the word "opposite."
We have been LED to believe that mysticism and science are opposites. But this is completely false. GENUINE mystics, science, and mathematics are strongly intertwined.
Let me give some examples first and then refer folks to some great resources. One of the examples mentioned in the description is "astrology." In the West, astrology is somewhat simplified. But in India, the arcane science of Vedic Astrology depends VERY heavily on mathematical calculations. How can you say astrology is the "opposite" of mathematics?
Another example... recently, the mainstream science of quantum physics is talking about concepts that sound very similar to the ideas philosophers and mystics talked about since ancient times. This concerns the very nature of reality and time, for examples.
Another example... "metaphysical" simply means "beyond the physical." Even quantum physics now talks about dimensions that exist beyond the physical 3D world that many of us mistakenly believe is all that exists.
Yet another example... The word "supernatural" means "beyond nature." But what in the Universe can be beyond nature? Everything that exists within the Universe, from the trees to the birds to the oceans to the stars to human beings to ghosts to aliens to dreams to psychic phenonema ALL exist within the Universe, and therefore within nature. And science is an attempt to study and understand the universe and nature, is it not? Therefore, there is no such thing as "supernatural."
I sincerely believe, therefore, that the words "opposite of scientific and mathematical" should be REMOVED from the description of the Mystical Forum. Otherwise, it's just plain false. At the bottom are a couple web site titles with a lot of information to learn. Please don't just brush it aside because it sounds "weird" or "fringe" at first. EVERY new discovery looks that way at first. It is important to keep an open mind. We are intelligent people here, aren't we? So let's take these things seriously.
On the web sites below, you will see scientific and mystical ideas being discussed in the manner they SHOULD be discussed -- NOT mutually exclusive of each other, but as intertwined with each other. I realize that this is not the mainstream view of the masses. Well, historically, the majority has almost always been WRONG about most major things anyway -- so no surprise there! We need to change our paradigm. So why is this important as far as winning the lottery is concerned? Well, I believe we can use science, mathematics, and mysticism to their fullest potential only if all these subjects are treated with the same amount of respect and interest, and as inter-disciplinary subjects rather than compartmentalized subjects. How we perceive these subject matters is more important than we often realize.
I know conventional science separates mysticism and science as if they were mutually exclusive. But conventional scientists have always been a mediocre, and often closed-minded and arrogant, bunch. However, consider the following quotes...
"Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."
"Imagination is more important than knowledge."
The first quote sounds like it was spoken by a philosopher. The second quote sounds like it was spoken by an artist. Well, actually, these statements were made by Albert Einstein. He may have been a philosopher and an artist -- but the world knows him most as a scientist. In fact, he was one of our planet's greatest scientists. Consider the first quote once again -- that is something Hindu sages have preached down the centuries. Consider the second quote once again -- imagination works with visualization (which is one of the mystical topics given as examples in the description of the Mystical Forum). Both quotes were spoken by a great scientist. Something to think about.
And now, without further delay, here are the web site titles to consider. It is against policy to post the actual links (which makes the sharing of valuable resources unnecessarily difficult -- bad policy, in my opinion), so I will just post the TITLES of the web sites. Just use Google to find it. It should be the first link on the search results page if you type the following exactly:
- Montalk
- Matrix Energetics
The first site discusses a wide spectrum of topics in a very logical manner. But the discussion is mostly theoretical. Most people would consider such topics as "fringe." But keep in mind that historically, the "fringe" has more frequently been proven correct than not. The second site talks about how to take the science of quantum physics and turn it into practice! The focus is on healthcare and healing, but the techniques can be applied to any aspect of your life.
Conclusion: Mysticism is NOT an "opposite" to science and mathematics.

Thanks for the Welcome. But does anybody even understand what I'm trying to say in the original post? The replies to my post have nothing to do with the topic I'm talking about. It makes me wonder... I hope I'm not talking to a brick wall here.My main concern is that it is mistake to divide science/mathematics and mysticism and call them "opposites" when they are NOT! But so far, no one is talking about that.

They say so because science is base on experiment or calculation, and the result is very specific. Let's say mystical, sometimes we should do some conversion or perform a deep think to figure out what the dream tell us, and during this conversion, something could be misled by the spirit. But I agree mystical is a science topic.
