Since Rick G mentioned variances, here's another type of variance.

Let's say you played this on a Pick 5:

12   19    25    29   32    and a QP on the same playslip, the QP gives you:

  3     6    11    12   21

_________________ the variance is:

9     13    14    17   11

So you would play a third set:

9  11  13  14  17

Definitely a "Why not" approach, but for a $1- $5 player, why not!

You can apply it to any number game.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
