From my understanding of the game you need to match 6 of 42 numbers to win the Grand Prize of $1K/wk/Life. There are two drawings - The first drawing is selecting the 6 out of 42 for the Grand Prize. Then, it is followed by a Free Ball drawing which is 1 of 42. This is Your extra number (FREE BALL) - they give you an extra ball (FB) to have a 2nd chance of winning something.
The Payouts are as follows
6 out of 42 (without the FB) = 1K/wk/for life.
5 out of 42 + the FB = 1K/wk/for 1 YR
5 out of 42 (without the FB) = 600.00
4 out of 42 + the FB = 200.00
4 out of 42 (without the FB) = 30.00
3 out of 42 + the FB = 30.00
3 out of 42 (without the FB) = 2.00
2 out of 42 + the FB = 2.00
In your case, you state you had matched 2 of 42 but did not win anything - This tells me that you did not match the FB# of 26 for that drawing (or simply put - you did not pick the number 26 on your play slip. If you would have played 26 on your play slip, you would have won $2.00. You have to remember that are Two drawings in this game - the first drawing picks out 6 of 42 numbers for the grand prize. They then have a 2nd drawing picking 1 of 42 to be the FB#(extra ball). The six numbers you picked on your play slip is what you need to win the Grand prize. But then, they have the 2nd drawing for a FB, which gives you a 2nd chance to win something with the FB (Free Ball).
Hope this helps.
