Hurley's numbers pay off for 'Lost' fans

==========================================
Only four of the six all-important numbers from the show rolled out of the Mega Millions barrels, so instead of winning the $355 million jackpot, or even matching Hurley’s $114 million, loyal “Lost” fans holding tickets bearing the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 won just about enough to buy the series on DVD.

Or as “Lost” co-creator and executive producer Damon Lindelof put it in a Tuesday night tweet, “9,078 people played Hurley's numbers in the Mega Millions tonight, each winning $150.”

The real mega bucks will go to the two still unidentified winners with tickets purchased in Washington and Idaho. They played the full set of winning numbers: 4, 8, 15, 25, and 47, plus the Mega Ball of 42.

So close.

    There were many lottery "experts" making predictions about what the winning #'s would be. Looks like Hurley knew more than any of them. Reminds me of that POWERBALL fortune cookie story a couple of years back where there were dozens of 2nd place winners based upon the fortune cookie.

        Who knows, maybe the numbers from Lost will "travel" to Powerball!

        Scared

        Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

        Lep

        There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

            Can you imagine the let down if all the numbers hit? You'd have 9000 people all thinking they won at least tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars, only to later find out they had to split the JP with 9000 other people and end up with a mere $40,000? Still not a bad winning, but not the megabucks they would have first thought.
