just day dreaming about how to make big games accumulate large jackpots. but somehow make  more people win them.

how about a game with impossible to win odds, that reduce the loger the game isnt won!

start with say 7 from 100., then slowly reduce the number of balls in the barrel ea draw that the game isnt won.

the game will jackpot a lot at the start, but as the pot builds, the more likely there will be multiple winners.

i know it would confuse and antagonize too many people, and annoy the heck out of clerks telling people

"no the numbers you picked are too high, theres ony 92 numbvers this draw and you selected number 99"

but then who would start even playing when the pot is a measly $10 mill or what ever and odds are 7 in100 just wait till other suckers pump it up to $100 mill, and odds are 7 in 80  or something

Would you play a game that was made extra hard to win to to get a large jackpot if you knew the odds of winning it would be better once the jackpot reached a certain amount?  Not me, I would wait until the jackpot got large and the odds were better to play.  Let the suckers contribute to the jackpot and I would have more to spend when the odds of winning were better.

yeah i think that would be the problem with such a system. some places like canada do extra 6 ball draws when the pot gets big, still people play up the pot , and dont all wait untill the extra  balls are drawn.

PowerBall has a system that tries to spread the wealth when the jackpot reaches a new record level by adding money to the second prize.  The problem is setting a new record gets harder each time after it occurs.

I nocticed that - they should make that for every draw above 200 million.

oh there you go,  instead of changing the odds, change the percent that goes to ea prize division.

maybe ea  draw it doesnt go off, 1% goes to the lower prize pools. so if it went 100 weeks, umm that would be %10, eaash i tay soon get to not  adding to the top prize of it went for what 30 weeks lol, well this is why im chatting here and not running a lottery agerncy.

Years ago when Ohio Super Lotto had jackpots reaching $60M, they decided to limit the amount one ticket could win to $20M and people stopped playing it.  That was before MegaMillions so the game attracted a lot of players from out of state.  That rule only lasted about six months but by that time surrounding states had added PowerBall and Ohioans were going out of state to play it.  Finally Ohio had to add MegaMillions to get Ohioans to stay in state to play their lottery games.

yeah i guess the idea of sharing the pot with more players doiesnt work, money speakers louder than anything and people want massive jackpots. and itsa true, why bring a rule in that only dicourages  people playing?
