... just wondering how many people here are playing Hurley's numbers from the TV show "Lost". In early Jan on the MM drawing 4 of the six numbers came out and there was a larger than usual payout on prize winnings ... but had all six numbers hit for the jackpot, chances are there would have been so many winners that no one would have got rich. In PA for example, two drawings come to mind ... the Cash 5 drawing for Feb 6, 2004 had this set of numbers hit ... 5-10-15-20-25 ... I suppose if you had that set of numbers and went to bed thinking you had just hit a "jackpot" ... going to get all my bills paid and a new truck! ... then you read the morning newspaper to find out there were a total of 242 winning tickets for the jackpot ... I myself was surprised that there were so many people playing that set of numbers ... so no truck ... 242 tickets each getting $439 ... instead of 1 or 2 tickets with a decent payoff. Then just this past Dec 4th, 2010 ... the Treasure Hunt numbers for that drawing were 1-2-3-4-5 .... again, I was surprised that so many people were playing those numbers ... there is usually only 1 winner, sometimes 2, rarely more ... for that drawing there were 49 winners ... the jackpot was over $60,000 but the payout was $1266 per ticket ... Several years ago on the Cash 5 ... the first time it ever happened .... the drawing was all 30's ... 5 numbers. I figured that jackpot would carry over with a bigger jackpot for the next drawing ... I figured, nobody would play all 30's ... well, the next day I found out that there were 5 winning tickets ... probably "quick picks" but still ... 5 tickets? ... I would have lost a bet on that, thinking no one would have won that or at the very least there might be one "quick pick" winner.
So I guess, with so many people playing Hurley's numbers, the smaller prizes will still pay a decent amount to everyone but if all six numbers ever come out, there will probably be hundreds of winning tickets sharing the jackpot. GLTA
