Need a little more info on your deas to apply these as variables. Positional analysis is as simple as marking an X, check or tick in an appropriate box on paper.
What string theory math are you talking? Examples?
Perpetual numbers? Are you looking for combos or trips that hit together most often?
Number groupings? Do you mean a set of numbers that continue to produce hits?
Here's a sum range chart showing the totals possibile in 5/37 and the combinations to cover them.

It should give you a good idea of why many frown on using sum ranges.
49 to 110 equals 61 sum totals that hit 70.03307
49 to 111 equals 62 sum totals that hit 71.30501
70 to 120 equals 50 sum totals that hit 70.87255
70 to 121 equals 51 sum totals that hit 72.14449
70 to 122 equals 52 sum totals that hit 73.36555
70 to 123 equals 53 sum totals that hit 74.25591
70 to 124 equals 54 sum totals that hit 75.19715
76 to 125 equals 49 sum totals that hit 70.51641
80 to 131 equals 51 sum totals that hit 70.23658
80 to 132 equals 52 sum totals that hit 70.71992
80 to 133 equals 53 sum totals that hit 71.17782
80 to 134 equals 54 sum totals that hit 71.63572
85 to 175 equals 90 sum totals that hit 69.57517
Haven't updated this chart in months but as you can see, at 70 to 120 you're playing a sum range at 70%. You can see that every additional sum total you add, you go up a few thousand combinations. And then, at and above starting point 85 you can't hit 70% even if you play to the top of the range.
Hope this helps!
