The Reference Box is a tool you can use to get STRAIGHT hits in Pick 3.

It also works quite well with Pick 4.

The Reference Box is made up of the digits that are hitting the most in the 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd positions.

Here is a recent example of a Reference Box (RB) for New York done on February 14:

This means that the hottest digits in the 1^st position are 4, 2, 0, and 3.

The hottest digits in the 2^nd position are 1, 4, 3, and 5.

The hottest digits in the 3^rd position are 2, 1, 9, and 4.

Not ALL the hits from the RB are straight of course; many times the hits come in box form. And not all RBs generate a straight hit - but many do.

The RB can also be seen as a convenient way to VISUALLY organize information about Pick 3 and even Pick 4. It is an easy to use tool that you can REFER to at any time when deciding what numbers to play; that is why it is called a REFERENCE box. It will always tell you what digits are hitting the most in the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd positions at any point in time.

By doing a new RB on a regular ongoing basis you will be able to SEE how the digits are moving “inside” the game. For example, you may notice that on Monday the digit 2 was very strong in the 1^st position but the RB you do on Friday can reveal to you that now the digit 2 is more dominant in the 3^rd position. That is very useful information that will give you an incredible edge when you play Pick 3.

The RB works in ALL states. It works in all Pick 3 and Pick 4 games.

I will now give you a few examples.

Here is the RB for FLORIDA done on Feb 15 after the midday drawing.

905 hit straight the SAME day in the evening drawing!

960 and 027 hit straight the very NEXT day on Feb 15!

I can give you MANY more examples - but I think you get the point.

This is a very powerful system and it can make you a winner in Pick 3 if you master it.

I will now explain how to create a Reference Box so you too can start getting straight hits in your state as well.

How to Create a Reference Box

Step by Step Instructions

I will now explain in detail how to create a Reference Box or RB for short.

First you need the last 20 results of your state…..BOTH midday and evening COMBINED.

We do NOT separate midday and evening drawings in my system; we use them together.

We will use the last 20 results from New York as an example.

The 1st Position

Now we will find the top 4 digits in each position. First we will work on the 1^st position. When we organize the digits from the most frequent to the least frequent in the 1^st position, we get this:

(You can use a software program to do this, sort it in Excel, or count each digit individually with pen and paper. This can be a pen and paper system, all you need is the ability to COUNT digits to use it.)

As you can see, the digit 4 hit the most times in the 1^st position; four times. The second most frequent digit in the 1^st position is 2. It hit three times.

Now you will notice that 0, 3, 5, 6, and 9 all hit twice. What we do in a situation like this is to pick the LOWEST digit, which in this case is 0.

So the top four digits in the 1^st position are 4, 2, 0, and 3.

We line them up like this:

The 2nd Position

Now we will find the top 4 digits in the 2^nd position. When we line up the digits, they look like this:

So 1 obviously hit the most times (five times). That is followed by 4 (four times). Then 3 and 5, both of which hit three times.

We line them up like this:

The 3rd Position

We will do the same with the 3^rd position.

The digit 2 hit the most (4 times), followed by 1 and 9 (both 3 times), then with 4 (twice). And as I mentioned before, we use the digit 4 here (even though 5 and 6 also hit twice) because it is the lowest of the three.

We line them up like this:

When we put the three lines of digits together we have completed the Reference Box.

Always LABEL the RB with the DATE.

Since we started counting back from February 14, the date for this RB is February 14.

This is the Reference Box for Feb 14 for New York:

I have given a letter to every location in the Reference Box.

The letters are in the box above.

As you can see, I skipped over the letter I. I did that because the letter I looks too much like the number 1 and this can create confusion. So in the box above we go from H, which is the bottom of the 2^nd position to location J, which is the top of the 3^rd position.

Above are the 9 locations of the smaller version of the RB which I will explain in future posts.

We have A, B, and C in the 1st position going down.

E is always the top of the 2nd position in both boxes.

J is the top right hand corner of box boxes.

M is the lower right hand corner of both boxes.

H is the botton of the 2nd position of both boxes.

F is the center of the small box.

K is the middle of the 3rd position between J and M in the small box.

**Pick 4 Update**

Lets Research on 20 Drawings for Pick 4.

I have said before that you need 60 drawings for Pick 4 to work but dealing with all those drawings (an entire months worth of Pick 4 results) is just too cumbersome.

I want to make the Pick 4 version of this system work with just 20 or (maybe) 40 drawings.

Using just 20 drawings for Pick 4 would further standardize the process of getting hits; we would just need the last 20 results to get a hit in both Pick 3 and Pick 4. That would be perfect.

I will be doing some back testing and seeing what works best and keep you posted on what I find.

But I would be happy if any of you would post here any interesting discoveries you make if you backest using 20 drawings for Pick 4.

Suggestion: TEST two types of boxes with Pick 4 using only 20 drawings:

(A) Finding the top digit in each positon like we are doing now for Pick 3.

(B) Only using each digit one time in positions 1, 2, and 3. Here you would eliminate each digit after its assigned to a positon. So if 1, 4, and 5 hit the most in the first position, you would not use them again in the 2nd and 3rd positions......but you will have to when you get to the 4^th position since 9 of the 10 digits will be used by the time you are done with the 3^rd position.

So creating BOTH types of boxes and seeing which one gets the most hits is a good way to find the best strategy to use with Pick 4 when using 20 drawings like we do with Pick 3.

I will look further into this but please do post if you find anything interesting regarding this.

Wow, took a few months off to come back and find this. Looks like a GREAT tool for hits. Now, if I've done everything correctly, this should be the RB for Oklahoma tonight:

A Reference Box is actually good for 30 days.

There can be an initial wave of hits (both box and straight) right after it was created.

Then it goes cold.

Then there may be a hit 15 to 18 days after it was created OR 20 to 29 days after it was created. Sometimes both. For example, there can be a hit on the 15th day and then another one on the 25th day after it was created.

So if a RB was done on January 31, there may be an immediate straight or box hit on February 1 or 2 or 3.

Then it will go cold.

Then there can be another hit around February 15.

And then a final hit around February 24 or 25.
