My dad and I were considering cutting our lottery budget in half and try our luck at one of the indian casinos in CA because we aren't winning much with the games the CA Lottery is presently lately.  We've entered the Fantasy 5 Bonus Bucks coupons and 2nd Chance Drawing with the non-winning scratchers and still nothiing, which is beginning to get a bit frustratingUnhappy.  At least if we were to go to the casino once or twice a month, we could get lucky, then again, we may not; it's all in the luck of draw.  Has any one had any good luck at any of the local casinos lately???Smile

p.s. Thank you LP Family for your special prayers for my dad; he is recovering well and walking without a walker.

    Hey Dollar,

Glad to hear your father is doing better.

I have played at several casinos in the US and Canada. Casino play is very different than lottery play even though they are both gambling.

It is much easier to win some money at a casino but most games are designed to only pay out small amounts. So even though the payout at many casino games and slot machines is around 90% (on average), because you will make several wagers in an evening, the 10% you lose on each bet adds up. Most people leave a casino with a loss.

    My advice:

    1. Go to a casino if you enjoy the experience even if you lose. If you enjoy casino play only when you win, then do not go.

    2. If you play a table game, take the time to learn both the rules and strategy, otherwise stick to slots.

    3. Take advantage of the other amenities at the casino. That is, get a player's card. It usually only takes a couple of minutes to fill out the form. The card will usually give you discounts for food and drink and sometimes free plays at slots or a table.

    4. Never go to a casino with the intention of making up for a loss from a previous session.

Good luck and remember you are there to enjoy yourself. When the enjoyment stops, then it is time to leave.

    Good luck.

Personally, I'd stick with the lottery cuz when I get around all that booze and all them wimmins in a casino... well, you know how us hillbillies get in the big city. It's a recipe for disaster for a married stump jumper.

But then it might be ok for you.

Either way, I wish you the best!

Sounds like you and your dad gamble hoping to get lucky and win a life-changing amount of money rather than for entertainment.  How many times have you heard of anyone spending $5-$20 at a casino and ending up a millionaire?

Playing casino games and playing the lotteries are both gambling but they are for a different type of gambler.  The only thing you need to know to play a lottery game is the price of the ticket but unless you're just going to play the slots at a casino then you're going to have to know the game rules and have a strategy for playing.

Good luck what ever you do.

         * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

                        Hint:

If you see a glass enclosed 5 dollar slot room void of any players for at least a half hour, then run in there and start playing. And always use machines that are the most visible to the people outside of the room.

More explanation upon request. (long story)...lol

Casino games are different than lottery. I sometimes play rulette online, but nothing else. I tend to think that math works better here. However I found out that online casinos set up their programs wisely, so they maximize the largest bet you can place, and at the same time they maximize the times an event can occur for their favor.

For example, you play black and red, and you always double to bring your loss back. The casino keeps throwing reds. However by the time you reach the maximum bet e.g. after 6-8 bets, they still have a way to go to throw reds.

This way you basically keep loosing.

Of course I used a little program that was watching the possibilities of red/black, odd/even and so forth, but on the long run I always lost.

So, I switched back to lotto, where I do not deal with the headache of guessing and being smart. In lotto I just enjoy to sense pure luck.

Casinos can suck you in deeply, so really-really watch out. I really advise to practice online on their free surfaces, and only spend money if you think it would be wise.

Your gains are small, but you can loose a fortune quickly.

                          I always play random numbers
