Yesterday at the lottery terminal, I was thinking of buying a $5 scratcher. Then I thought - maybe my chances would be better if I bought 5 $1 scratchers instead?

Today I was looking at a $5 scratcher and debated - should I buy 4 $5 or 20 $1?

Do you think your odds are better if you buy scratchers as a "roll" vs. a bunch of different single scratchers?

Note: Part of the reason I buy scratchers is because the terminal doesn't make change - and sometimes just to have fun; but I don't do it very often. However, this question comes to me every time I have more than $1 to spend on a scratcher.  Note 2: I ended up not buying any yesterday, but today I bought a $2 instead - and won $5!

Personal opinion:  Off the roll is better then out of the machine.  Buy in groups of 3 or 5.  If you get a good win, stop buying that ticket type at that location.
