I had three numbers last night... and it happened because I've been playing #21 every day and I play #21 on every line I play. I typically win multiple Free Plays on the days that I do play. Each day when I check my tickets, I usually have 2 or 3 FP's. Sure, there are days when I don't even have one number on any line on my tickets, but typically I have at least one number on any given line, and many times I've got two. But because I played that #21 on all of my lines, I won $24.50

Yesterday was different when I was picking my numbers. I did my normal thing and played #21 on each and every line I played. And because I saw the twenty's number group was the one number group that had the fewest hits this month, I went extra heavy on the twenty's - and it paid off. On the line I won $24.50, I had 08 20 21 29 35.

Yeah, it's only twenty four bucks, it's no big deal. But as they say, knowledge is power, so maybe some day I'll have enough knowledge to win a jackpot. Hope so anyway. G5

BTW - see that #38 coming back again? It was long gone a short while ago, and I won $$ playing it too. Because it went missing for so long, it's got some catching up to do. Over the years I've been playing T5, I've seen many times where a number that disappeared for a long time come back with a vengeance shortly after it came back after a long dry spell. Too bad I didn't have it on that line that I had three numbers on.

One more thing - that was #21's 25th hit of the year and it's hit 6 times in April........ way ahead of schedule to have close to 60 hits by year end.

Boy oh boy Mr.GiveFive. If we were together having a cup of coffee yesterday I know we would have taken the top prize . I had that strong idea for the due three number consecutive but I was one number off! Plus had my eyes open for the comeback #38 after being cold for so long . Well I did grab a free ticket.

All it takes is a little insight/knowledge into the behavioral characteristics of the game of T5 and players can definitely make something good happen. .

That's not to say it's easy to win a jackpot, because it's not. I used to work with a guy who used to have the same lottery software I have, and he won a T5 jackpot. That happened quite a few years ago, but to this day he'll tell you he won more frequently than the average player wins because he had knowledge that most people don't have. And he obtained that insight because of the software he had installed on his computer. There's no doubt in my mind that I win more frequently than most players I know who do not have the software do. I'm sure Tique54 will agree with me too. He's won a T5 jackpot and I've no doubt he won it because he plays smartly.

I sometimes get into a heated debate with my thirty-something daughter who graduated college with a degree in math. She's a purist, she'll tell you the lottery is totally random and nothing that happened yesterday has any bearing what will happen tonight. To me, that's a definite maybe. When I ask her why do I win more frequently than the average player does, she has no answer for that question.

I read the news article on LP's home page about North Carolina's ticket sales being down due to the coronavirus.

One kind of nice thing (if there can even be anything nice about the coronavirus) is that there hasn't been a lot of Take5 jackpot winners lately (that sucks!) and that's causing second place prizes to be larger than usual. Any jackpots that have been hit are in the $43,000 range, so people must not be buying as many tickets as they used to. It's either they aint buyin' as many or they just aint buyin any tickets because they're staying home. My guess is that a big reason why ticket sales are down is because commuters from New Jersey to NYC aren't buying because they're not going to work in Manhattan. Ton's of people commute via New Jersey's PATH trains into the World Trade Center each day and the trains are probably empty. Jersey's Pick 5 game is harder to win than Take5.

When I've bought tickets lately, I haven't had any problems. I'm wearing my mask and gloves, have my playslip filled out and cash in my pants pocket so that when I get to what's now a "window" (a clear plastic sneezeguard where there once was none) I hand the playslip to the clerk and I'm gone with my ticket in hand in about 30 seconds. I've been in a few social distancing lines, but usually there's only one person ahead of me and they're standing at the splashguard. G5

23$ hit last night because I played a repeat (#19) an angle (#23) and what looked like a #39 starting to show some life !

True Mr. GiveFive about the lotto stores between Queens and Levittown where I live . They all have the plastic windows set up and business is ok but weaker in the stores because I see they removed the chair set up for the Quick Draw games so there is no "hanging out"

There is a store near me that's what I would call "Lotto Friendly". They sell all kinds of tobacco products like cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco etc.

Although I don't smoke, I buy tickets in there quite a bit. Near the glass entry door at the very front of the store they have devoted a fair amount of floor space to all things related to playing the lottery. Tables, chairs, bet slips, NY Lotto ticket vending machine etc. Whenever I go in the store, usually there are some players hanging out, sitting around shooting the breeze and scratching their scratch-off's.

Now days, there's a handwritten sign on the front door that says; "Due to the current corona virus situation, we are asking that you please enter the store, make your purchases and immediately leave. Thank you."

It's a ghost town in there now. Lines of red tape on floor spaced six feet apart, plexiglass "splash guard", and people wearing face masks standing in line to buy smokes and lotto tickets.... Weird. G5
