Hi Orange! I probably had numbers appear in the upcoming drawing that I played in the latest drawing, but it's hard for me to tell you for sure that it happened. I landed here in Florida on November 1, 2020, and NY had yet to go to two T5 drawings per day. So if I bothered to look to see if it happened, the drawings were held 24 hours apart. But I never really bothered to check to see if it had happened or not. Although I was aware of players saying it had happened to them, my attitude towards it was "The past is the past" and I simply focused on picking numbers for the next drawing. I consciously decided not to beat myself up over it.
My sixth sense tells me you might be located in Orange County. I lived in Dutchess County and worked for 32 years for a large international corporation located in Dutchess. We retired and left for Florida during the heart of The Covid pandemic. (Crazy, huh?) I'm willing to bet that you can easily guess who my employer was, and the town I lived in.
I had a few more thoughts about playing the lottery that I should have put in my earlier post. One of them is about what lottery officials call "coverage". In PowerBall, there are 292+ million unique combinations of 6 numbers. If they sell 73 million unique lines (combo's) out of that 292 million, then 25% of them were sold (covered) but 75% were uncovered. (not sold) That means there's a 75% chance that no player will win the jackpot. The more unique number of combo's they sell, the greater the coverage, and the greater the chance of somebody somewhere hitting the jackpot. That's why when the jackpot approaches or passes 1 billion dollars, and "lotto fever" has kicked in, 80 to 90 percent of all combos are covered, and some lucky soul wins the jackpot. (Actually it's more like two lucky souls)
Another thing I wanted to post about is the sum of five numbers on one line. A sum of the five numbers on any given T5 line should be in the neighborhood of 100. That's the center or sweet spot of a bell curve depicting all possible sums from 15, the lowest possible sum (1,2,3,4,5) to 185 (35,36,37,38,39) which is the highest possible sum. The most drawn sum in T5 (all time) is 97 which has been drawn almost 160 times.
A word about the foolishness of playing 1,2,3,4,5. Don't do it. In the entire history OF ALL PICK5 GAMES across The USA, that combo has NEVER been drawn. Even if it does eventually get drawn, there will be so many winners that you might win 10 bucks FOR WINNING A JACKPOT!!! Which would probably be the one and only jackpot you'll ever win. Ever notice people love playing 1,2,3,4,5 but nobody ever plays 35,36,37,38,39? How crazy is that? Consecutive numbers do come out, but after 3 consecutive numbers, the percentage of 4 consecutive numbers falls off a cliff. In the entire history of T5, four consecutive numbers have happened in 17 drawings. (out of over 9,000 T5 drawings). Five consecutive numbers of ANY combination has NEVER happened in T5.
Playing pairs is something that held little interest to me. The all time best pair in T5 is 31 - 39 which has happened 140 times over the life of the game. Playing "triads" made little sense to me too because 3, 22, 24 has been drawn the most, but only 23 times in the entire history of T5. Forget about "quads". 15,17,18,32 is the most drawn set of quads, and that happened just 6 times in over 9,000 drawings.
So there you have it... In these two posts I've put the most wisdom I have gained over the years I've played the lottery. I have software, which tells me all this good stuff, but I've never won a jackpot playing any online lottery game in a boatload of states. I have won a ton of "3-baggers" but that's about it. I know that my lottery playing friends where I used to work never won as many small prizes as I did, so that tells me the software does work somewhat. But in addition to the software, you're still gonna need a lot of old fashioned good luck. I never told a soul at work I that bought and was using lottery software. That's because I had too many sets of eyes rolled in my face when I mentioned I might buy it. So I clammed up and never said "shirt" to anybody that I had it. But I made dam sure I showed them all those 3-baggers! All I ever heard when I showed them my latest 3-bagger was "Man! You're soooooooo lucky! I wish I had that kind of luck!"
Yeah, well keep rolling your eyes at me I thought to myself. Had you not done that, I might have shared with you what I've learned. But I never did!! G5
