Which jackpot will hit a new United States record first?

 Mega Millions [ 19 ] [44.19%] Powerball [ 24 ] [55.81%] Total Valid Votes [ 43 ] Discarded Votes [ 3 ]

I am glad I got the powerplay.  Had the PB number.  \$12   Wow!

I wonder if Powerball will break out of the guaranteed jackpot range this run.  Just two more rolls.

I'm confused, what's the guaranteed jackpot range?

Smart decision Artist. Had it been 5+0, you'd be worth \$2 million right now!

It's when the jackpot has increased by only the minimum amount of \$10 million per roll.  For instance, the current PB jackpot of \$70 million is a guaranteed annuity, because it is on its fourth draw in the current run, and the starting jackpot of \$40 million + \$10 million for draw #2 + \$10 million for draw #3 + \$10 million for tomorrow's draw = \$70 million.  If the jackpot is not won tomorrow night, more than likely, it will roll to only \$80 million, since sales are not very strong in terms of number of tickets sold.  If it's not won tomorrow or Saturday though, next Wednesday's pot will more than likely be over \$90 million, which is finally outside guaranteed range.

Based on the numbers picked tonight, I predict there will be two or three jackpot winners (unfortunately, I did not match a single number), so this MM run is NOT a record setter.

No winner for me either, I matched two numbers.

Maybe next time, \$290 million!!!

Good luck everyone!

I cannot believe nobody won the MM jackpot last night!  However, 68 tickets won \$250,000 (actually 47 tickets did, as the 21 in CA won only \$56,000).  I'm pretty sure some of those other 47 tickets were \$1 million winners though (with the MegaPlier).

I won nothing but I also lost nothing. I think \$356 million will roll over couple of times higher ;)

In terms of cash jackpots, Mega Millions is already there.  One more roll, however, and they can probably claim the first half billion dollar jackpot!  It would be pretty ironic if MM, which hasn't changed its game since 2005, beats Powerball, which has changed its game TWICE since then, to a half billion dollar jackpot.

How has Powerball changed it's game twice?

When Florida joined Powerball in 2009, it went from the matrix of 5/55 + 1/42 to 5/59 + 1/39, making the game more difficult to win again.

Just two months ago, Powerball changed again by increasing the ticket price to \$2, but in compensation, changing the matrix to 5/59 + 1/35, making the game a bit easier to win (but it only has about 500,000 total combinations LESS than Mega Millions does).

Oh ok, thans ryanm!

How come some states have lotteries and others don't?

What would it take for others to join in on Powerball/MegaMillions?
