Here are some things I've always wondered about. Some have probably been asked before, so please forgive the repeat.

1) If someone won the PB, and bought 10 houses for random family members, is there still some kind of gift tax taken?

2) Does laminating a winning ticket make it void?

3) If you have a lotto group with, say 4 people, can each of the four groups share the claim with others?

4) How does gift tax work? Do they monitor you if you take out large sums of money from your bank account after a big win?

What?

    1) Yes.

    2) No, but you're a) taking a chance on damaging the ticket and b) you have to turn over the ticket, so there's really no point in laminating it.

    3) Yes, they can share their share. To avoid trouble, you want to make sure that the "add-ons" are not party to the original group and not entitled to share part of your share.

    4) The person making the gift pays the tax. "They" monitor everything Evil Looking going on in banking/finance and other systems, and sometimes compare your inflows/outflows with your tax returns and other info.

In neo-conned Amerika, bank robs you.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be the name of a convenience store, not a govnoment agency.
