My pledge and oath is to now post only pertinent, interesting and substantial replies to all the exciting lottery topics.
The only pictures posted shall be solidly on topic, and for the benefit of all.
I'm also just wondering if all humor is also banned from this site.
Thank you THRIFTY for allowing me to post here. I share and agree with all your views 100%.
If I were Jewish, right now I'd be saying, "Oy vey".
The act of feeling sorry for oneself looks really bad from a distance.
I'll give it to you straight: Posting dozens of "meme" type pictures in nearly every lottery discussion and news thread loses its humor after the first dozen. It's like telling the same joke 50 times and expecting people to keep laughing each time. Unlike the Internet "meme" sites out there, this site is visited by ADULTS. (Only 18+ play the lottery, right?) While teens can go through meme sites all day and all night, most here (if I can be so bold as to speak for most here) like their humor lightly sprinkled in with the real discussion, rather than the reverse.
If you are looking for a good meme site, may I recommend Memebase? If memes are your thing, it's a really great site.

Well I'm so happy to hear your not Jewish Todd.
Appreciate the straight talk, and will certainly take it to heart.
Memes are not my thing. Playing the lottery is, and has been for many years now.
I will continue my passion for the lottery games I play, as well as my correspondence with the forums and members here.
Thank you for your sincere concern and interest for your members here!

I admire your ability to remain calm and stay diplomatic mcginnin56, virtues I have long been lacking and find myself in most cases about as diplomatic as a bowling ball. I am learning though and I think the forum has been helpful in honing my social graces.
I will respectfully disagree with the Chief on the point of you feeling sorry for yourself as I easily recognized your sarcasm and light hearted humor in your post to Thrifty.
I will even be so bold as to say that I speak for both of us when I say that we never intended to cause "dismay" or "exasperation" to anyone. I also share your concern over how absurd it would be to spend time in the forum every day in the complete absence of humor and fun.
For what its worth, I'm interested in talking to real people, with real hopes, real dreams, real ambitions and real goals. The more wit, and humor, and sarcasm the BETTER.
As far as acting goofy?? There is a big difference between a "meme" and a couple guys who are 40 years beyond that stage and found a way to get a good laugh every once in a while.
In fairness though, I will admit to acting childish, going too far at times, and pushing the limits. I also respect the wishes of the Chief and hope to stay around a while.

Thank you Ronnie for your kind comments. As far as staying calm and diplomatic, just all in a days work. Or in this case an afternoons work.
As stated to you earlier, I was always raised to be a gentlemen, but also carry a big stick. (Delete meme here, to not offend sensitive viewers).
Despite our daily input of twisted humor with memes, pictures and comments, we are both devoted lottery enthusiasts first and foremost!
You have one of longest threads going on "Do Some Combinations Have Better Odds", and you have always put your money where your mouth is.
I post my daily predictions on the big board, host the "One A day Powerball" thread, and make it a point to congratulate those that are winning big.
There was a post here a short while ago from a long time member (apologize I cannot recall name), who's signature went something like this:
"I will not act my age. I've seen it, and it's not pretty" In a fantasy world of perfectly well behaved people, who fall into the "One Size Fits All"
cookie cutter mold, life would be so oh so nice. But until this fantasy becomes a reality, lets try to recognize and appreciate the different gifts
that we all bring to the table. Life is short, and difficult enough for most of us. This is why we come here. Sure we all share a love for the lottery,
but we also would like to have a little fun along the way, is that asking for so much.
Ronnie I must say I'm quite impressed with your growth in diplomatic skills! You have gone from bowling ball to handball in just a few short months!

I don't think its too much to ask at all mcginnin56, in fact I think enjoying the ride and having a little fun along the way should be a requirement.
I have learned in my 50+ years of life's experience that people of character and substance most often also enjoy the lighter side of life, and the humor it offers.
I for one am grateful for your quick wit and mild sarcasm that always brings a laugh.
(add scripture verse for emphasis)
"a marry heart doeth good like a medicine"
I suppose I could be considered a lottery enthusiast now that I have been on LP for almost a year, but there are still plenty of things more important than chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Like putting salt on a birds wings perhaps??

Ronnie, are you and Mcginnin being passive aggressive towards DARTH VADER? I can say that you are wasting your energy. DARTH VADER has never laughed during any star wars movie. The man is solid as a rock. I will never joke around DARTH VADER. May the force be with you brothers in your persuit towards a lottery jackpot win.

ALL YOU NEED IS A LOTTERY TICKET AND A DREAM.
AVOID PISSING OFF DARTH VADER.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU LOTTERY POST MEMBERS.
Funny you should ask that question Thrifty because I have heard of that term and I'm certain that people have used it on me, as I would likely be an easy target. But as far as me using it on others..... even if I understood the concept and was intentionally trying to use it, somehow I don't think I would be very good at it. lol. lol. lol.
I respect DVs wishes, but I still want to have fun in the forum. If people were playing the lottery "for fun" it seems to me they just might be having a little more "fun" doing it.
After all, MC was the one who was told to join a "meme" site and given a link. If people want to think I also belong on a meme site it doesn't bother me because I'm not the least bit insecure in who I am, and the fact that I can freely have a few laughs.
I understand that is NOT what this site is for, but it would be nice if people were a little more happy along the way. I agree with MC, cookie cutter members are a bore.
