Very very long shot that my ticket is a winner, but the drawing's not till tomorrow so I'll spend the next day and a half wondering if they'll pay.

I went to the vending machine and got a WildCard.  It didn't spit it out, so someone came, opened it up, and pulled it out.  The machine had run out of paper.  Unfortunately, it ran out before it printed the bar code on my ticket.  So we went to the CS counter and he got me a new ticket, with the same numbers.

What I'm thinking, is that even tho the bar code didn't print, there's still a record that two tickets with these numbers were sold, one from the vending machine and one from the CS terminal.  And if it happens to be the JP winner, the one I have printed from CS will only be paid half the JP even tho the other ticket will never come forward.

What're the chances I can convince them that only one ticket was really sold and that they owe me the whole JP?

Did you think of asking for the old ticket as proof that you got it from a vending machine?

I think the lottery investigators will swoop in and handle this for you if you are the jackpot winner.

Nope.  I was half way out the door before I even realized it didn't have the bar code so I was quite proud of myself for catching it in time to get a new one.

Thanks for pointing out I'm still a dumb ass.  teasing with poking tongue out smiley

If you do win off two tics could you take half lump sum and half annuity?

Not on this game, but if you won MegaMillions or Powerball I'm sure you could.

You know, it wouldn't hurt to call the lottery dept BEFORE the drawing and ask them about what happened.

Hopefully, you wrote down or remember the names of the people that helped you, so they can back up your claim. (Or at least the date & time it happened so they can look at the schedule to see who was working that day).

And no, I don't agree with the person above me (that you have too much time on your hand to worry about this). I, too, would be thinking about this. It could happen. And then where would you be??

It's already after 6 on Friday night, and the drawing is Saturday.  Missed that window of opportunity.  NEXT TIME this happens, tho, I will know exactly what to do.  Cool

Speculation really doesn't take all that much time.

By itself? Sure. But to include everything it takes the average person to post on a forum. Not so quick.

I matched the wild card and got my dollar back but that's it.  I'll be better prepared the next time this happens.  Big Smile
