cONGRats. I could use just one of those 100's about now lol. I see a couple people from Orlando area have been killing it with the scratch offs lately.

With only 1,200 books of the $5 Cash Fall left, is anyone focusing on that game? At least 1, possibly 2 jackpots of $250,000 remaining along with 7 $10k, several $2k, and a healthy number of $1k prizes unclaimed.
I can provide store location info if you want to know where to find it in your area.

I'm in SE FL & I've bought several books of Maximum Money & 2 books of Cashfall #235247 & #235341, also tons of single tickets, I lost big on the books(all of them) The singles weren't any better(some nice wins, but nothing to write home about), I can't recall where(city) I bought them, but it shook me back to reality, the losses that I suffered was to great for the minimum gains, so now I just stick to buying single tickets here & there, also these 2 games are the only books that I'm mentioning, but I've bought other games(books) loss on those too, $300 for the book, $115 - 150 return, no thank you

Well, that's the typical return on a $5 game. Book buying usually almost always guarantees a loss.
But when there's only about 1,000 books left on a game with outstanding jackpots, a person is playing for a chance to win the big one. Sure, a profitable book would be nice here or there on that search.
I still have yet to win a $100 prize or higher on the $5 Cash Fall game...

The problem with the dwindling books theory is I think we've seen enough now to realize that the FL Lottery starts pulling back the books and destroying them before we can buy them, or retailers "lose" a bunch of books that the lottery says they're supposed to have.
Cashfall may not have been on the list due to the lottery not finding the jackpot ticket to destroy, but odds are they will remove it from whatever store in the "course of business" before someone buys it.
(Mis)Fortune looks like another $10M prize should fall given what $1M prizes have been won.
Kicking myself about the guy who won at $5 Gold Rush at the Kangaroo/Circle K on SR 40 & SW 60th in Ocala. I've bought there before and that's been the place I've filled up the rental car before taking back to Airport since it's the closest location. Grr.

Honestly Zzplay, I think you've hit the nail on the head and you've pointed out exactly why this strategy is flawed. Chasing scarce games is just so risky because of the "pulling" and resending to the warehouse that you've eluded to. What the hell happened to the earlier $5 Cash Fall prize that was supposed to be hit in the earlier part of the print? 2/8 jackpots unclaimed (25%) with only 1,000 books remaining (less than 0.001% supply) is NOT OKAY. This type of fishiness reminds me of what is going on with the $5 Wheel of Fortune game, which is likely to end with no additional jackpots being found. Maybe this is another case of the $5 Power 8s. There's too much ambiguity. Also, the likelihood of retailers activating the $5 Cash Fall at this point is dwindling. There's so many newer $5 games, especially the recent $5 Week For Life which is selling like candy. There's too much shelf space competition.
I do think it is possible one of the $250k prizes is out there. With just over 1,000 books remaining, it isn't a bad ticket to play. But like you've pointed out, it is fighting a losing war. I splurged this past weekend and played through several $5 Cash Fall books. $125/$300 two times, one $175/$300, and then encountered one $255/$300 book (that had two $50 winners which are rarer than the $100 prize, and a $30 win all). It is so difficult to come out ahead on a $5 game. Scratching through so many Cash Fall tickets was enough for me to not want to play for another month at least.
I know the feeling. Someone recently won a jackpot on the $5 Gold Rush Doubler probably about 5 minutes away from where I live in Gainesville, although I never visit that store. Also, as I walked in a store to buy Cash Fall tickets yesterday, I saw pictures of recent big hits. Someone hit $10k on the old $20 Gold Rush, and they had other big winners posted like a $1k on the new $10 Week for Life, and even a $1k on the old $2 Gold Rush all hit within the past week. It just goes to show we don't know where the big winners are...or when they're going to be hit.
I'm going "ghost" again for a month, but wishing everyone the best of luck here! I'll be peaking on these boards, eagerly awaiting who is going to hit the next claim ticket.

Hello Theos,
I tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full.
I played through the last 40 tickets in a Cashfall book today (234,619) and I ended up with about $100 back and I considered myself lucky. I've played through about 6 rolls in the past 2 months with the one $1k prize and a few $100 prizes. The funny thing about the roll I played through today was that it was not on the list of vendors who carried the game. I've seen that happen in other games as well. Nearly every book I've seen has been in the 230 range. I only played one in the 218 range and that was the lowest range. I suspect the last prize is lingering in the 220-230 range as well.
I'm somewhat cautious about this game because the Power 8s also had 2 top prizes and eventually the game sold out and neither top prize hit. But conversely, all of the old $5 Flamingo top prizes hit and that game was super old and not widely available. Ditto for the $5 High Roller. I'll still play a little longer because the losses on a $5 game are tolerable. I can't say the same for the $20 and $25 games. Also, there is the small chance of hitting one of those $10k prizes.
Outside of that, I've picked up a few of the $20 L4L. All of the other $20 games top prizes are way over claimed to be worth playing right now.
-
On a side note, I emailed the FL Lottery to let them know they are off again on their top prizes on the website. The $600M Gold Rush shows 2 top prizes when both have been claimed and there are no top prizes left for that game. Also, the $25 Misfortune only has 8 $1M prizes, not 10. Finally, the $25 WCC only has 28 $1M prizes not 31.
I've noticed when I send them emails about errors on the top prize list that they usually correct it within a few days.

I've also encountered books of Cash Fall that were activated, but not shown in inventory reports at least in two different locations in Gainesville. Perhaps there's quite a few more books out there than the 1,200 listed on the Instant Liability Report. I'm throwing in the towel at this point, but if a top prize isn't found on Cash Fall in a month or two I'll likely buy some again when I'm in South FL for work.
I agree with you that the $20, and $25 games are "overclaimed" as far as top prizes. The $25 Misfortune should have a $10M pop, but given how unforgiving that game can be I wouldn't play that game aggressively.
Also, thank you for trying to keep the FLL accountable with updating their website. I saw them list the wrong number of top prizes available for the $25 World Class Cash or $25 Misfortune on their social media marketing! They have access to the ILRs...so they should know very well the accurate number of top prizes remaining.

Hello everyone! First post here. I was just recently introduced to the lottery, I've always been a very financially savvy guy so I never even considered it, but I've had quite the fun recently! Here is my lotto story
About a month ago my wife was watching Youtube "Live" she found this guy named "Donafello" who was live scratching tickets, she clicked on him and watched for a while, it grabbed my attention and I started watching, he was having a fantastic night.. definitely made a few hundred dollars profit that day, we watched the whole episode and subscribed, and that started my lottery fever.
Whenever I get into something, I usually research it for an unhealthy amount of time so I can know every little thing about it, I ended up finding this forum... and boy what a ride it has been! When I first found this forum I would go home from work and read it every day, starting a couple hundred pages ago, wow it's been exciting and dramatic. The most exciting part of this forum seemed to be when a ton of people were chasing the "Super Millions" jackpot, I remember seeing tons of replies with detailed book and location information, but the most exciting part was when a random lurker came in here and posted a 10k winning ticket, it was pretty much obvious that he had taken the free information provided by members like dracos here and found that winning ticket! I found that fascinating and my interest was peaked at this point, I was ready to play.
After a few weeks of reading I was ready, so I took $220 on what will forever be know to me as "Scratch off Day" and I did a minor version of Donafello's strategy, buying 2 tickets out of a book from several stores, here is what I got.
4 $25 World Class Cash
5 $20 Gold rush Doublers
1 $20 Monopoly
Scratching the tickets were a lot of fun, revealing 3 winners, two world class cash and 1 gold rush doubler. One world class cash had a 2x, the other had 2 winners, so we thought we won $100 just from that! Unfortunately we were wrong, and it's not like new york where if you could 2 prizes or a 2x you automatically win $50 on a $25 ticket, we learned the 3 winning tickets revealed $30, $25, and $20. A total of $75 won from $220
I was slightly disappointed, it slightly took the wind out of my sails for about a month, I even upped my Roth IRA contributions to make up for the slight guilt of blowing cash, but it truly didn't feel like a waste to me, I truly had fun and wanted to do it again.
Throughout the month I bought a couple more tickets, a few 5$ and a couple 1$ tickets, i broke even on 1 out of two 5$ tickets.
Last Friday though, I was feeling really good.. These new week for life tickets were just released and I really wanted to play some. My sister was coming over and I wanted to buy some smaller tickets to scratch for fun, so I got 10 $1000 a week for life tickets for $20. We scratched these tickets, revealing 9 losers and a $30 winner! My sister scratched the ticket and got excited when we told her the odds of winning $30 was 1 in 309! So here I am feeling very lucky, having know about the concept of a "Hot Roll" I thought we had one, so we went down and bought 15 more tickets from that roll with the winnings (about 10 tickets had been sold from that roll).
When we came home we scratched the 15 remaining tickets, revealing a $40 winner, a $10 a $5 and a 2$ winner for a total of $57! The $40 winner had odds of 1 in 679! The last 15 tickets had finished the roll, and this is when I learned my first lottery lesson... Always trust your gut and have a strategy.
I felt very strongly about buying the 10 tickets originally, and I felt strongly about the 15 tickets after, but when that roll was gone all my intuition vanished, I really doubted buying more tickets would be smart as we had gotten so lucky already, but I ignored that feeling and bought the following
10 $2500 a week for life
3 $1000 a week for life
All 10 of the $2500 a week for life were losers, only one 2$ winner from the other tickets.. Leaving us with 2$ I definitely do not feel bad... because I learned such a valuable lesson, trust your gut and always have a pre determined strategy, don't give them back all of your winnings, overall though now I feel like I'll never have to learn this lesson again and I still feel very lucky! So that's my story thanks for listening.
As to the post that I am replying to, considering I have a budget of $20 to $40 a week tops on buying tickets, I am very interested in the smaller tickets, even though I've had terrible luck on the 5$ tickets so far I feel like I just haven't played enough yet, I really would like to try and get lucky with the Cashfall tickets, I understand the grand prize may be gone, but the increased odds on the smaller jackpots still excite me.
Dracos, I would definitely appreciate the location info for those cashfall tickets if there are any left in the NE Florida Jacksonville area, also I'm wondering the opinions of yourself and others on this forum, what kind of strategies would you guys implement when spending only about $20-40 a week(Most of the time I will save this for 1 monthly session), all opinions are appreciated.
I look forward to hopefully posting some pictures of winners in the future, I didn't think to snap pictures of my first "Big" wins, but definitely will in the future.
Have a great one
EDIT: I meant to quote the post from DRACOS, where he states he can provide location information on the cashfall tickets, info is apprecaited thanks!

Welcome to The Lottery Post.
Usually "chasing a win" is a losing proposition. There have been a couple of times where members have done very well trying to find big winners. There have been many other times where it has cost members large amounts of money.
Playing the scratch games where relatively few books remain with possible big prizes left is a way to increase your odds of hitting a big prize. The big unknown is were the winning tickets purchased and discarded by mistake or was it in a book of tickets picked up by the lottery and destroyed.
For me, I buy 1 or 2 scratch tickets once in a while. My biggest win was $100,000 on the older Gold Rush game and that came from buying just 1 ticket. Actually, the only reason I bought that ticket was I had a Lotto ticket with 3#s correct with Xtra for $25. Had I not had that, I probably would not have bought that ticket. So, it's luck and also being in the right place at the right time.
If I was going to play one of the scratch games, it makes sense to play one where few books remain with big prizes left. That way, at least you have a possibility of better odds on a big prize verses a newer game that is out... -

I've chased a lot over the years and sometimes it paid off well but most times it does not. The only additional advice I can add is that if you do hit a big winner ($100+), resist the temptation to go out and buy a ton of more tickets expecting that you will continue to hit those big wins.
Although it is possible you may have a very lucky day and hit more big wins, most people end up giving back a lot of the winnings. Your endorphins will be high when you hit a big win but don't let it blind you that the odds of hitting another big remain remain high. Play a few more tickets and then pocket the rest of the cash and leave ahead.
In any event, best of luck!

Welcome Giantfan!
It is great to see someone else from Jacksonville! I used to live in Jacksonville for two years (Arlington area), but now I live in Gainesville.
Here's a link where you can access the Cash Fall book locations for the entire state in an excel file here: https://ufile.io/sdxaf lurkers, no lurking! Well, if you are, at least post a picture when you find the jackpot.
I would like to reecho what Duckman, and Gators have said. Solid advice from those veterans.
During my year and a half of playing scratchoffs, I might have become one of the most hardcore scratchers. I have probably scratched 50 books of Super Millions, 15-20 books of $10 Holiday Gifts, 5 books of 200MS, 10 books of 50X The Cash, 10 books of the $5 Cash Fall game. Out of all of te books I've bought, I was down in the hole in the thousands. I would say after buying 100 books, maybe 10 books were profitable. Of course, what put me ahead was the monster Super Millions book that had the $100k, and $1k winner only 5 tickets apart. That same weekend I managed to find another $1k winner from a one and done Gold Rush Doubler purchase from a Publix. My advice is to stick to your budget of $20-$40 a week. Most people who play are going to be behind. You heard it from Duckman that he hit a monster win from just buying 1 ticket. Skeptic recently hit a monster win from buying only 1 ticket from random stores. It is all about being at the right place at the right time. Oh, and living in Cape Coral helps too...just kidding! Or am I? (If you've these forums for long, you'll known who I'm eluding to here haha)
Wishing you all the best!
