Powerball has just announced a larger jackpot at \$425M annuity, \$244.7 cash.

Based on the previous jackpot, it appears that the lottery is estimating that 110.7M tickets will sell for this drawing.

The probability of various numbers of winners, including zero winners (rollover) determined as a randomized Poisson distribution is as follows:

 k,   number of winners p(m,k) 0 53.17% 1 33.58% 2 10.61% 3 2.23% 4 0.35% 5 0.04%

There will be a poll question coming up. I wonder why the Powerball Jackpot increased by \$25 million?
