Unless there are at least 50,000 citizens brave enough to storm the Lottery Headquarters as a revolt, there's pretty much nothing you or I can do.

"Some feel our lives are rigged, what can be done about it?  Until people realize we all get old and eventually die no matter what and everyone quits having babies who will eventually get old and die the problem will still exist"...

if YOU think the lottery is rigged, this is not really a good forum to discuss what to do about it aside from figuring out methods to beat the "rigged"-ness of the games.

I had to sit and think about this... if the lottery was "rigged", who then would be the beneficiaries?  People can't keep quiet about a good thing, so a rigged lottery would eventually be found out.  In one sense the lottery is "rigged" because it's based on randomness. Those running the lottery are selling guesses as to what comes up next. If it weren't, then eventually a "beat the house" method / methods would be derived and people would be educated in mass such that those running it would be bankrupt or the payouts for the game would be so minimal due to high percentages of winning tickets that most people wouldn't bother playing.  MOST if not all states have a clause that limits the number of "winning" tickets for this reason as well.  The states protect themselves from having too many of a specific number-set being played.  Seldom if ever are those limits reached except on weird dates (like the year 2000) or odd ball events that everyone grabs on to out of superstition.

So what can be done about it has already been done. And it was done by the people running the lottery when they say: "Don't play anymore than you can afford to lose"  I can say for myself that I continue to play on paper and the few times I've tossed out a 5, 10, or 20 dollar bill to buy tickets and didn't win, I've understood that I was a loser but I enjoyed game anyway.  Which brings me to a realization you should consider, the vast majority of people playing the lottery are enjoying it win or lose.

If the eyes are the windows to the soul, let me see you without the shades drawn
