Going by the convenient store or location where you purchased the winning ticket in a few months time, perhaps thanking the staff and maybe having a "group hug"-  you that kind of guy or gal, you wear your heart on your sleeve, its all hanging out as they say.

Plus for good measure you decide that you going to " cut a cheque" for  the staff so they can all go on a vacation, join in the celebration! l mean you overcome with emotion and you in the  giving spirit- at this point, you tell yourself " You can do no wrong". All your stars are aligned!

 Would that be you?

My question is do you have to go to a lottery agent to validate a jackpot ticket?

And no I would not go to the store and give them a vacation..
the store will be rewarded handsomely (like a millon dollars sometimes!)

    have a great winning day!

Psykomo- The Convenient Store Owner gets $1 mil- not the store clerk who probably works for minimum wage.

cant say ive thought about it, and dont have an inclination to do it.   lets say i won in the 10's -100s of mill, then yeah i could do it for a min wage person i actually liked. but 1-10 mill, i think the " save for a rainy day" mentality would kick in

Yes, I won BIG I would tip the clerk that sold me the ticket, maybe $5000.  After all, we tip dealers in Casinos.

The store may get a kickback for selling a winning ticket, but I doubt the poor cashier sees any of that money.

I got to talking with one of the clerks at a convenient store that recently sold a $400 mil plus ticket, he told me that the owner owns a few" Subway/gas stations" and plans to purchase more with his million dollar bonus. When l said l hope you got a a few thousand- his response was " yeah right". I did not pursue the question so its anyone's guess what he meant by that.

LOL Im taking it to mean that he's not gonna hold his breath waiting on the owner to give him anything other than his salary

That's why l did not ask further questions. The clerk did say that the owners were on a flight to India when the store hit the JP.They could very well be Patels for all l know.

No, that wouldn't be me.  That group hug might cost me millions and a few stalkers.  That store would never see my face ever again.  The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Well, if you are worried you could always find some way to do it anonymously, maybe a few months later.

Actually, if you had the cash it would be a lot of fun to just anonymously give some $$$ to people in need.
