What's the game? If it's a $5 crossword those don't have any $5 prizes. Only the $3 ones do. Tbh your post is a little confusing.
If the machine says to file claim form, that means the prize is $600 or more. Just go find a self-scanner and double-check yourself. It will tell you to file form or see claim center; honestly the prize amount is irrelevant since you would find out anyway at the claim center. If it says anything other than what I just said, it should tell you how much you won. "Winner 4" could be $4, but again that would be on a $3 crossword.
If the chances of winning the jackpot are so slim, why play when the jackpot is so small? Your chances never change, but the potential payoff does.
If a crystal ball showed you the future of the rest of your life, and in that future you will never win a jackpot, would you still play?
