Lucky Man generously pays forward to charity with Major slot WIN with $20  @ Rampart Casino

This guy has a little luck and a big heart.

A Las Vegas man plans to donate much of his $14.3 million winnings this weekend to charity, according to the casino.

“It’s just a great story this time of year,” Rampart Casino spokeswoman Jenifer Smith told Yahoo News.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, also intends to pay for the construction of a new church for his congregation, which currently holds religious services in a high school gymnasium.

He is not a big gambler; in fact, he was only playing the Megabucks slot machine to spend time with his best friend, who was visiting from out of town.

Within minutes, the lucky guy saw $14,282,544.21 flash across the top of the slot machine.

“He doesn’t really play Megabucks,” Smith said. “He just put $20 in the machine, and it hit.”

The casino’s general manager, Michael Gaughan Jr., was in the building to congratulate the winner.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting jackpot. It doesn’t get any better than this,” Gaughan said in a statement.

    Wow, what a score.

Good for him. I read that he wants to remain un-named, probably smart on his part considering his plans.

    Thanks for posting, Edessaknight.

When they first put the Megabucks machines in and had them all linked so that the meter progressed if anybody in the state was playing one it was kind of freaky to see the meter progressing and no one playing the machines you were watching.

Probably different now, but I think at first they were 25 cents machines and every $1.25 progressed the jackpot $.01

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

    Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

      Thanks Coin-

Megabuck network slot  hookup remains the same.

I would certainly agree about remaining nameless but he just couldn't pass up a photo receiving the big check & miles of smiles, go figure but I don't have the heart to post it!

        Edessa__Knight,

        Well, it's in News.

Not sure who is who in the photo but the guy on the right looks like Tony Soprano.

Hey Coin, sure, sure, one of the property's promo dept quickly got to slot with big check for a big shot, likely later had second thoughts & held back his name for his 15 seconds of publicity, hope big hearted winner doesn't come to regret it!

Most importantly, in the casino world, no one reported anything about the size of the toke to slot supervisor; you will recall the famous story about what happened to the casino server gal who won a big JP & the negative publicity she received for not appropriately taking care of the slot floor attendant's :-(

            Oh yeah!

This is way back when but there was a drop dead gorgeous waitress working the baccarat pit one night and an Arab prince was playing (said he was a prince anyway). during the course of the night he tipped her with black cheques, bet for her, etc...

When  he figured her shift was over he asked her if she'd like to go somewhere with him for dinner and drinks and she said she didn't work there anymore thanks to him having tipped her $82,000.

            /////////////////////////////

We had a guy at Palace Station that was p.o'd about having to come in on his day off for a meeting. He played a $50 advance play Keno ticket, an 8 spot with all the sixes. the Keno writer made a mistake and wrote the tickets as all the eights. He comes back to work and finds out he won $50,000 thanks to the writer's mistake........and stiffed her and the Keno crew.
Caused a rift for a while, but he started getting marriage proposals from some of the female 21 dealers.
