Multi-state lottery jackpots are growing at a smaller pace

I posted 3 days ago about how much sales have dropped for the Mega Millions game the last couple of years. I was just checking out PB sales and its the same with it. It has rolled now 16 drawings and the advertised JP for it now stands at 261 million. The last drawing which had an advertised JP of 230 mill after 15 rollovers resulted in ticket sales of 55 mill. Less then 2 years ago when the JP was hit in May for 590 mill it was the result of 13 rollovers. After it had rolled 10 times the advertised JP was for 222 mill and there were almost 78 mill in ticket sales. And for the recent drawing the mega million JP had jst been hit so one cant point out the MM JP had anything to do with low sales. The big JP that used to take a result of 13 to 15 rollovers now will probably take 20 rollovers for the PB.

I think sales are down because people just get tired of throwing their money away on almost impossible game, yeah they might buy here and there defeinitly not like before

I usually get one ticket for each game. For some reason today I got two more MM tickets. May get 2 more PBs for tomorrow's drawing. I would be happy with a million dollar win.

it's growing at a slower rate because some people are buying into the notion that only a few States WILL win the jackpots- namely CA, NJ, FL, NY...etc.
Once an idea is planted that makes people say " Yeah, that makes sense now that l think about it"..the mental brakes are applied.
Now that sounds like a conspiracy theory....Good luck proving that one!

I think it's because MM lowered odds of winning AND PB doubled the ticket price. So less people probably playing and with PB regulars now can only put in half as much money and so they may be more careful with their lotto budget.
Alot of people I know only go into MM or PB when the jackpot is big like 100mil or 200mil+.
