Updated the Pick 3 "5-Digit" and "6-Digit" Strings Excel files.

Download link to the zip file:

https://copy.com/jmO1lZ4OJufGBElU

Instructions:

Create a new folder and name it whatever you like. Example, Pick3Strings

Download the zip file from the link above and unzip the 3 Excel files into your new folder.

Open the P3StateDraws.xlsm file 1st and leave open

Go to the Main Menu and select File > Open and browse to the folder where you unzipped the Excel files and open the Excel file

I already ran the calculations for Midday, Evening, and Combined draws.  See screen shots below:

See Tabs "StringStatsMidday", "StringStatsEvening", "StringStatsCombined"

MiddayStrings1

In the screen shot above for the Midday draws cell rows G & J contain the 2 longest running "6 Digit Strings" and in cell rows Q & T for the "5 Digit Strings".

For example, in cell G4 the "6-Digit String" of 1,2,4,5,7,9 has a value of 92 in cell H4.  The 92 is how many consecutive drawing at least 1 digit from the string 1,2,4,5,7,9 has appeared in the Tennessee Morning Pick 3 drawings.

In cell J4 the "6-Digit String" of 0,2,6,7,8,9 has a value of 88 in cell K4.  The 88 is how many consecutive drawing at least 1 digit from the string 0,2,6,7,8,9 has appeared in the Tennessee Morning Pick 3 drawings.

The "5-Digit String" calculations appear in cell rows Q,R and T,U.

If you wish to only calculate the "5-Digit" and "6-Digit" Strings for a particular state(s) here is what you need to do:

Click the Tab at the bottom labeled "States".

Click cell B19 and to the right you should see a drop-down arrow.  Click the drop-down arrow and change the "A" (All) to "C" (Custom)

Next, click cell B15 and to the right you should see a drop-down arrow.  Click the drop-down arrow and select the Pick 3 game you want to calculate.

For example, I'll select "Pennsylvania_Combined" draws.  Let Excel calculate the formulas.  This may take a few seconds.

Next, scroll down to Cell range B57:B58.  Click the Toolbar labeled "Click to Clear Strings StringStatsCustom".  Clicking the Toolbar will clear all previous calculations from the tab labeled "StringStatsCustom".  This is optional.  You don't need to clear any previous calculations if you want to calculate another Pick 3 state game from the drop-down list.

Next, click the Toolbar located in cell range B54:B55 labeled "Click To Run Custom Draws".  This may take about 10 to 15 seconds to calculate.

Click the Tab labeled "StringStatsCustom".  Scroll down to line number 98 and you should see the calculations for the Pennsylvania Pick 3 Combined draws "6-Digit Strings" and "5-Digit Strings".

Next, keep the P3StateDraws.xlsm Excel file open and from the Main Menu select the 3rd Excel "StringsAnalysisPart2.xlsm"

Note: I found a couple errors in the Excel file so I uploaded the corrected version.

      Click the Tab labeled "States"

Click cell B15 and to the right you should see a drop-down arrow.  Click the drop-down arrow and in this example, select "Pennsylvania_Combined"

      See screen shot below:

      Part2Image1

Next, follow Steps 1 through 3 from the screen shot below:

      Image3

The numbers highlighted in row K, L, and M indicate how many numbers hit from the "6-Digit String" 2,3,5,7,8,9

From the calculations we know this string has had at least 1 digit from Positions 1 through 3 for the last 108 draws.  From the screen shot below we see that this "6 - Digit String" started on Sunday, July 12, 2015 (6-8-6).  The 6-Digit String was broken when 6-6-6 was drawn on Saturday July 11, 2015.
