It is a no-brainer! States could raise much-needed additional revenue at the end of each year with a "Fat One"!

We all get a lot out of lotteries!

We should all contact our state lotteries to give our feedback, and hopefully by next year America will have a "Fat One"!

Depends on how much the buy-in is.  I've heard the European one is quite expensive.  I wouldn't be interested in entering in a group, so if I could easily afford it, I'd definitely buy a ticket.

Way to go geerod!  You just single handedly brought down the American El Gordo before it got off the ground!  This is America, and giving almost 50% of a huge lottery win is an unalienable right!  Next thing we'll hear is you want an actual jackpot amount advertised instead of an annuitized one, and you don't want it to use a random number generator!

I'm feeling a jackpot win coming my way!

              I Agree!

Absolutely Music*, and Geerod, while everyone would likely agree to the non taxation clause wavier - in this country no one can receive huge amounts of money with out owing up to Cesar.

So-called refugees can afford to play Spain's "El Gordo"! So, it must be affordable, or "refugees" in Spain are getting generous welfare. I suspect it is the latter!

Maybe the Massachusetts Lottery should rename the Megabucks Doubler every December and call it, "The Fat One"? As it is a national game available across the US, it would be a great success.

'El Gordo' is also a "Fat One" for the Spanish Government

The tax on this year's Christmas lottery prizes will generate 188 million euros for state coffers, according to tax inspectors union Gestha.

The Spanish government will also get 30 per cent of the revenues from ticket sales, less the running costs, meaning the state will collect around 900 million euros from the draw.

As the population of the US, 320 million, is many times that of Spain, 47 million, image how much US states could raise from an America "Fat One"?
