  I received a email from Tom's daughter today informing me that Tom had passed away.  Tom was a good friend

  and fellow lottery player.  I will miss him more than I can say.

  Today would have been his 65th birthday. 1/26/1951.   RIP....

  His user name was Maryland and although he did not post much he liked to read the post of others

  I think he first joined LP in 2003.  I felt for him because he lost his wife to cancer after a long fight.

  It was not long after his wife's death that he too was diagnosed with cancer.  He said he was getting

  better as the cancer was reduced to a very small dot but decided to go through one more round of

  chemo. 

  In his last email he stated that this time the chemo was kicking his butt.  That was a couple days before

  he passed.   He held a positive attitude until the very end.  Very sad as they were both very special people

  and Tom was a true friend.  One can expect this sort of thing but Tom lived a clean life, no smoking, drinking

  etc.. cancer does not discriminate.

   

  He and his wife had just purchased a new home and were looking forward to retirement when the c-word

  poked it's ugly head up.  He often told  me he was not greedy, "I want just enough to pay off my house." 

  He loved playing the lottery.

   

  Rest in peace my Friend.
