Here's a little trend. Check out how many numbers Did not have a digit 6,or 4 in them.

824 688  645  748  611  041  914  861  944  567  827  643  417  114  176  061  882  119  025  450  626  478  935  806  118  016  792  482  540  144  064

You got it.  Only 7 draws in the last 31 !

What do you think the probability of an 11th repeat(6,4) number hitting after that 824 hit today?

488/512 =       close enough  1/2 * 1/2*  " " " """"" = ???   Really?   Who's gonna bet with that trend for next draw?

Probability only works for future events. However, if we go back in time 31 draws and then say "hmmm I wonder what the probability of getting 7 or less out of 31 results with no 4 or 6 in them is?" (I added the "or less" just to raise the stakes), it would be:

0.512^24*0.488^7*31!/(24!*7!)

+0.512^25*0.488^6*31!/(25!*6!)

+0.512^26*0.488^5*31!/(26!*5!)

+0.512^27*0.488^4*31!/(27!*4!)

+0.512^28*0.488^3*31!/(28!*3!)

+0.512^29*0.488^2*31!/(29!*2!)

+0.512^30*0.488^1*31!/(30!*1!)

+0.512^31

=1.74%

So not terribly likely but also not terribly unusual. More importantly, though, if you constantly look for patterns in various lotteries, you're bound to come across one like this and go "ah ha! This is unusual" when in fact it's not unusual at all. Random numbers will randomly on occasion produce results that don't "look" random. For example, if you play a slot machine at a casino, the probability of winning the jackpot is very low (say, 1 in a million). But people do win, and that doesn't mean the RNG in the machine is broken, they just happened to hit that 1 in a million. The other 999,999 tries didn't work (either lose or win something less than the jackpot).

The probability of the next pick 3 number having a 4 or 6 in it is 0.512 or 51.2%. The same is true for the probability of the next pick 3 number having a 0 or 9 in it. Any two numbers is the same -- 51.2%.

First I would like to thank you Tucker for your interest and quick uptake on Pick 3.

Everyone has to have a reason(of somekind) to make a bet.

I bet a billion dollars that no (6,4) number will hit midday ga this noon.

481

What a surprise. Another 4 digit. How long can it go?

It really is only getting better. Progressive means never having to say "break even."

FYI below are the last standing BOX numbers at least one year old. Containing a 4,6 digit only.

Some players might have gone box on the flip side instead. Hope.

136, 049, 148, 468, 568

244, 668, 344, 066, 444, 166, 445, 004, 446, 448, 466, 556, 224

The biggest gamble for Sunday. Back to Back (no 6/4's)

On the follow up with our Straight number hunting trip.  One of the 23 straight play numbers did hit as listed and without a digit 6 or 4

The 305 hit straight with the digit 3xx in first position.

Waiting for 5 or 6 draws for straights doesn't seem unmanageable. Not for that high \$\$ a payout in our favor.

Even @ .50 per. Much less anything else.

*Now we can focus on the 2xx.midday

No where near the historical out as the 3xx was --but still worth the small effort. Straights after all.

205, 207, 208, 222, 250, 257, 258, 259, 270, 275, 279, 280, 285, 295, 297

Evaluating the value of adding back digit 4 and 6 into the mix of particular STRAIGHTs.

Edibs3, are you familiar with 'strings'?  If not use the search bar to discover the wonderful world of strings and some great spreadsheets that Winsum has developed to track them.

Here's a good place to start: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/206907
