Right now I am debugging the code to a key module in the report generator program I'm working on that (I hope) will completely automate generating the reports I look at. So, ask me again in a week or two when I am done with that?
In the meantime, maybe do an example by hand that will help me figure out exactly what you are looking for, starting with what you mean by a "pair." When I say the 57 pair, I mean 57x, 5x7, and x57. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean, 57x, 5x7, x57, 75x, 7x5, x75? This is the kind of thing that I'll have to think hard about. If you're interested in a one week window, as with the definition of the word "pair," you'll need to think about whether you want to slide the window day by day, or whether you want to take a one-week revolving slice, i.e. one-week slice at the time.
The problem with sliding windows day by day is that you wind up with overlapping windows. For a while there was a guy here who was posting charts that were good for "today" plus three days. Then, the next day, he would post another chart good for today plus three days. Then the next day and the next. From the fourth day on, he had 120 numbers going simultaneously, enough that he could pretty much guarantee at least a boxed hit every draw or so. After all, it only takes 120 6-way numbers to cover all 720 6-way Pick 3 numbers boxed. So, four small rolling charts of 30 numbers each could be used to cover 72% of the numbers but the player would end up having to wager $120 per draw in an effort to win $290 (for a straight 50/50 win) or $40 (for a boxed 50/50 win). I don't think that guy was a scammer, he just thought he'd cracked the code, but hadn't thought about the cost. As we discussed the other day, the costs have their very own way of getting your attention via bill collectors, divorce attorneys, repo men, foreclosure/eviction notices, tax collectors, negative bank statements, bankruptcy court proceedings, and so on...
Anyway, blah blah blah, I can drive you crazy with this stuff because I'm thinking really hard about this kind of thing tonight. Just think about exactly what you want to look at and I'll try to help. The best way to get a handle on these things is to sit down with a pencil and a piece of paper and do a workup by hand. If you can't do it by hand, I can't do it by computer.
