Thanks for the tips guys. So I actually didn't get a chance to buy any on the way... was trying to make the trip in 3 days.
Bought a bunch of $50 scratchers in CO though (Golden Jubilee; newest $50 ticket).. nice odds of 1 in 2 overall (2 in 5 for break-even odds which is actually also quite good)...
Bought 7 off a roll and got money back (5x $50 & 1x $100; 6 out of 7 winners.. got lucky)
Then bought another 7 and only got $50 back (1 winner) - regressed back to the mean there.
Then bought another 5 and got $100 back.
So nothing great, but at least didn't get completely body-slammed as per the FL usual... :)
There looks to be a second chance as well (where apparently you could win $3M as well!??!), so I'll throw them into that as well; hopefully don't have to be a CO resident for that..
Anyone who buys a lot of scratch-offs in CO know why the other two older $50 tickets (they both came out in late 2015) are nary to be found it seems? I wanted to buy from these older ones because, like the newer Golden Jubilee (which came out in late 2016), they each have 2 TP's of $3M, and all 3 tickets have 1 out of the 2 TP's claimed. So my thinking is since the most recent ticket already has one claimed, and the ones from 2015 are in same status of 1 TP claimed as well, then they are more likely to have another TP hit currently than the newer one. However, I can only find the newer Golden Jubilee; granted haven't really looked that hard though. Perhaps they phase them out as they all three appear to have the same game # of 749. But the older two don't show as ended on the CO Lottery website.
Anyway... tickets are kind of annoying as well, as it doesn't seem like they have any single match winning tickets... it's all a bunch of $1's, $2's, $3's and $4's etc usually, with sometimes some multipliers thrown in.. kind of weird, and very different than FL. On a $50 ticket, I just wouldn't really expect this.
