Given that the Odds on MegaMillions are about to skyrocket I believe Michigan should go it alone and pull out of the Multistate games.

With all the money being sent out of state for the Jackpots we could have some decent Michigan games with good sized jackpots and more frequent wins here.

Since the Powerball Matrix has change there have been no Jackpot wins in Michigan. Ponder that, two years and no Jackpot win here.

Since Megamillions changed their matrix about 4 years ago Michigan has had one Jackpot win (66 million annuity)! Now, in October, Megamillions is going to get even tougher to win.

Have any of the states done an analysis on Jackpot money sent out of state vs game revenue and the economic impact of the lost jackpot money on their state?

If states are worried about revenue lost to bordering states from ticket sales then they should look at the whole picture. I believe many states should pull out of the Multistate games. If their residents are stupid enough to go to other states and risk life and limb and pay mileage just to squander money on Jackpot chances that are becoming near impossible then let the idiots do so. I believe it would be cheaper for most states to do this than it would be to allow Multistate sales in their states as the money outflow would be less and less frequent.

Speaking of games with no winners I believe Michigan should get rid of Daily Keno and Poker Lotto. A search of "Winners near me" and "Unclaimed Prizes" On the MSL website shows that there have been no top prize winners on Daily Keno in way over a year and no big prize winners on Poker Lotto in just about a year (These are the record longest times ever).

It's time to change up the Michigan Games.

Before Ohio added PB and MM to its list of games I remember traveling up RT23 to the first truck stop north of the boarder and seeing hundreds of Ohio tagged cars and double lines of people buying lottery tickets when ever their jackpots exceeded $100M. If Michigan dumped those games I'm sure we would see the reverse in Ohio. Ohio only added those games to stop thousands of lottery players going out of state to play them.

When the seven factory workers from Columbus won their PB jackpot with an Indiana's ticket, Ohio saw that as a lost.

A certain amount of (stupid) people would drive down there to get their tickets but with nobody winning and fewer jackpot wins Michigan would be better off in the long run because less money would be getting sent out of state.

Yes, however, it could be 10 years or more with the obscene new odds before someone in even big ticket buying states wins a jackpot. How much money from their state will they keep sending out in jackpot dollars before they notice the drain?

Look at the ONE Megamillions Jackpot in Michigan since the odds were changed the last time. This time around the odds are going to get even worse! Are players in the top 11 ticket buying states going to put up with 7 to 15 years before a jackpot comes even close to them in their states?

When did the Megamillions odds change last...2013...That's 4 years with only one jackpot win in our state. That is a record!

How long will it be before either the states notice how bad these games are draining money or before the majority of the players figure out that nobody near them is winning and they stop buying tickets?

Let the dummies go to Ohio and play because Michigan will lose less money in the long run that way.

Like most state lotteries, Michigan provides lots of choices so it's not like the super jackpot games are the only games in town.

You entirely missed the point. I don't play those games but nobody is winning them and they are sucking money away from what could be great games if players would notice what is going on and stop playing the games that take a long time, if ever, to win.

I have been playing in four going on five decades and have noticed that the lotteries are using a divide and conquer strategy so they get more money while having to pay out less.

Feel free to not notice that the jackpots are taking longer and longer to win and they have pretty much ruined all the in-state games everywhere.

Well there you go! The PowerBall was a Top 10 record jackpot and we got one $50,000 third prize hit somewhere in Michigan.

The faster Michigan can pull out of the MultiStates the better.
