Forget the word, "deflate." Instead, substitute the expression "Group by Combinations." So, What is a Combination? It's numbers that come from the same 3 digits. So, for example, you have the number 5-6-7. The combinations are as follows:
5-6-7
5-7-6
6-5-7
6-7-5
7-5-6
7-6-5
There are six of them so this is called a 6-Way Combo.
Suppose you have the number 6-6-7. The combinations are as follows:
6-6-7
6-7-6
7-6-6
So this is called a 3-Way Combo.
And the ten triples 000, 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 666, 777, 888, 999 are 1-Way Combos.
Meanwhile, what can yo use these for? Well, in Pick 3, you can play a number straight, boxed (which means choose all the combos), or 50/50. So it behooves you sometimes to know about the number and it's combos. It depends on how you are playing your numbers. And, the best way to get a feeling for the combos of a group of numbers is to Group those Numbers by Combination (deflating). So, here's an example from the Tri-States.
So you have a pile of numbers, for example, I have a pile of numbers which happen to be every number which has ever fallen on this date in the Tri-States. Here is the pile of numbers:

06/25/2015 Day: 054 Night: 193
06/25/2016 Day: 632 Night: 872
YUCK! That's a bunch of mess. Is there any order in that chaos? Hmm...
SO I strip away all the yuck and now I have a nice list of numbers that looks like this - 015 046 054 055 083 136 142 152 193 221 242 360 360 508 576 587 632 665 668 674 699 733 803 872 884 890 895 925 927 951
So, is there any order in that chaos? I still dunno, but I'm thinking about playing a favorite from those number 50/50 today. So is there a number in that list which might be a good candidate to play 50/50? How to find that? Answer: Throw all those numbers in the Group by Combination (deflating) tool and group them by combo to see if there is a good candidate to play 50/50 (i.e. a number which has more than one combo in the list)
So, here is the above list Grouped by Combination.
Tier 2
083(803) 360(360)
Tier 1
015 046 054 055 136 142 152 193 221 242 508 576 587 632 665 668 674 699 733 872 884 890 895 925 927 951
Cool! There are two combos in there which have appeared twice - twice = Tier 2.
Thrice = Tier 3.
And so on. More Tiers = more better combos.
So, that's what the Group by Combo (deflate) thing is. That's what the Tiers mean. And that's a way to use the deflating tool. It's a cool cool feature of a paid membership to this site. I can't afford a membership, so I wrote my own Group by Combo tool (it was gigantic PITA) and I use it all day every day to do exactly this kind of workup.
Enjoy!
