Last year, for maybe 9 months I posted daily the actual travelling numbers from all states. That means I took the previous week's numbers from all the states, deflated them together, and posted them up daily so that folks could track their state's results versus the one-week trending numbers. North Carolina LP member JAMORA got interested and tracked the North Carolina numbers (Thank you again, JAMORA!) to see if they could make anything out of it but we never hit paydirt. We gave it our best shot with the real data for many months without success. This is not to say that it can't be done, but we made a determined effort at it that did not succeed.
What we did learn is pretty much in line with what everybody tells you. When a number got hot, really smoking hot, in the all-states, it did happen a couple times, I'm thinking twice in 9 months, that it was worth following it in North Carolina because the numbers fell in North Carolina late in their run. JAMORA will have to correct me on this, but that's what I remember.
I don't post the All-States workup daily any more, but once in a while you will see me post one up with a warning that a certain number is hot. If I have time, I try to annotate the workup with the different state results and daily workup hits to try to track where the number has hit and where it might hit. I've had hits and misses doing that. Nothing that I've found gives you any certainty of picking a number, otherwise it wouldn't be a "lottery," would it? However, in complete agreement with what others have found, there are runs of different things that you can follow that may be helpful, like the runs of repeats that dkwillis2000 mentioned above. When something like that happens, all other bets are off and the best thing to do is play the trend, whatever it happens to be.
Nothing in this world beats luck. Nothing. And I wish a bunch of it for you!
