I'm in Massachusetts. I got a $20 scratch ticket and brought it to the counter, where the guy scanned it, scratched void if removed, then told me that $1,000 was too big to cash there. But because it's 'Void If Removed,' and the employee removed it, did I just get screwed out of $1,000?

Have the guy call the lotto center or customer service office. He can tell them on the phone what happened set up for them to see youand just go there, if its right now I'd go on in there right after. you'll get it cashed. It was a mistake. Not the first time that's happened.

Unfortuantely I've already driven home, and the places are closed.

And I dunno if it was you who scratched it or not. Do you work at Stop and Shop?

They got cameras just mark the time remember the guy etc

oh yeah well there's tomorrow if you got time and the weatherno I don't work in stopnshop why would i work in s and s. I dont even shop in stop and shop. Although once somebody wanted to shoot me in a stop nd shop

Not open until Monday. And I got a pretty bad anxiety issue so I'm gonna be in a panic until then. Just hoping someone else in Mass might know about that.

Well just write time down remember what you was wearing doing if you worry just trying to help time down. I'm sure someone else here more knowledgeable but i seen it once hppen in a store with a $2 cash word game worth $1000. So i heard about t. Anyways thats what the guy told me i never found out what happened but im sure it was fine or taken care of. It's not like the cashier got anything sooooo somebody has to get paid. I.e You. You still have ticket correct?

It would be pretty hard to miss that I had a top hat and long coat on. Hope it all turns out alright.

But also about the guy, he should've at least told you what to do. He should have fixed it no doubt.

And as for what happened, he didn't tell me what to do, aside from saying they don't THINK It'll be a problem but sounding really unsure.

He just scratched it but didn't remove it, right? It's only void if removed, not scratched. In other words, you should be fine as long as that part of the ticket was't torn or cut off.

Yeah, just scratched it off. Still on the ticket. But I read that in massachusetts you can't turn it in if that's off?

The clerk saw the $1000 win before he scratched the 'void if removed'. He knew he couldn't cash it. Needs to be reported. Hope you are successful in getting your winnings.

Report it to the Lottery Director and then call your local TV stations, they are hot on this stuff.
