  61,000 slot machines @ Strip Casinos in 1999- all time high

  38,000 Strip slot machines today.

  ~

  55,000 local casino slot machines 2009- all time high

  45,000 slot machines @ local casino today

   

  Dramatic down turn , wouldn't you say?

  Good question weshar-

  Sometimes they do, it all depends on how each casino calculates the cost to return ratio for each square foot of the property floor space $$$.

  As gaming returns are shrinking, very often that space get allocated to non gaming activities such as food, entertainment & hospitality offerings.
