  Hi All,

  As many of you know, in March we released a big update to the Lottery Post mobile website  — the website that you see when using Lottery Post on a phone — and now a second round of updates to it have been completed. 

  So now I'm looking ahead to future development, and I'd like to incorporate your feedback into what gets implemented next.

  What additional features and/or content would you like to see on the mobile website in the future?  For example:

  • Is there something that would be particularly useful on the phone website (as opposed to the desktop website)?
  • Is there something in another app or website you use on your phone that you'd like to see here?
  • Is there something on the desktop website that you'd like to see also on the mobile website?  (Why?)
  • Any other suggestions for the mobile website?

  Also, there are some people who specifically turn off the mobile website, so that they only use the desktop website.  If you're one of these people, have you tried the new mobile site?  If so, what is still missing?  If you're still going back to the desktop website, what does the mobile website need to do differently that would make you want to stay there?

  This is your chance to make your opinion heard about using Lottery Post on a phone, so don't be shy — but if you don't like something please explain why, and what could be done differently that you would like.

  (Please avoid anything non-helpful such as, "I hate using a phone.")

  I'd like to see sum it up for both vtrac sums and all states sums searchable

  example

  ga cash 3 345 let me see          sum

                                                  12

  and ga cash 3 345 v451 is vtsum 10

  Thanks for the feedback.  I'm thinking that is more of a "Lottery Post as a whole" suggestion, rather than something directed at mobile — yes?

  As a test, I'm wading through the tasks I normally do on a laptop to see if I can do them on the mobile site. So far it's pretty impressive, but there's one gotcha. Admittedly, most folks are not going to lose sleep over this, but here's what I see:

  I search a lot of threads using a method you may not have intended. Because searching page-by-page is so tedious and time-consuming, I just hit the Print button. I have no intention of actually Printing, but I discovered that button flattens the thread out into one page. Even the simplest search (Ctrl+F) then allows me to find all examples of the search target in the entire thread. This is super handy in a lot of cases and, for example, makes checking the State of the Day Challenge thread a snap. I do this so many times every day that I don't even think about it any more, but I can't do it on the mobile.

  While a "Print" option might not be within the scope of what you want to do (I can just imagine the problems), I would really like to have the ability to "flatten" a thread so the simple "Find in Page" feature on my phone can be used to search an entire thread.

  I hope this is helpful and more the kind of thing you were looking for...

  Unfortunately it becomes difficult to do something like that on a mobile device because a phone browser runs out of memory quicker than a desktop browser, especially for large threads.  What kind of searching are you doing in a thread?  (An example?)

  I completely understand. About the search thing, to follow my example of the State of the Day Challenge thread, I just hit the "Print" button, then the whole thread is laid out as one page. I then use a (free) Chrome-browser extension that allows me to GREP the whole page. So, for example, if the State of the Day result was 213, I throw the logical expression 123|132|213|231|312|321 into GREP and search backwards. This wraps me around to the bottom of the thread (normally, but not always, the search range of interest) and then I just continue up through the thread like that finding every combo of the winning numbers at once. It's fast and accurate. I have dyslexia, so finding combos of numbers by inspection is otherwise extremely difficult. 

  Another common example that makes even better use of the Single-Page GREP method is to track folks who post "monthly lists" of numbers to see if they are coming in. For example, in a particular state, I would flatten out the thread using the Print trick then GREP all combos of the winning number forward (by default from beginning to end) to see if anybody had that in their month list they posted at the beginning of the month or to see if anybody had a winning number in one of those "good for five days" lists somewhere else in the thread or anything like that. Hot lists and hot number pickers show up really quickly using this method. This is a quick way to find out who's hot in a particular state. 

  I use this same method on the Results page(s), but it's not as easy as the individual State Pick 3 threads because it's not possible to flatten out all the state's results to look at for a week (say) at once. That's top of my non-mobile site wish list, heh. 

  Basically, the ability to GREP a logical expression that contains all combos of a number is an absolute godsend for folks like me who have dyslexia. It's probably helpful for normal folks, too, because it's not so easy to spot all combos of, say, a Pick 3 number at a glance, especially when paging through a thread one page at a time.

  I'm sorry. Like the old one much better. Front page with 6 options jumps around back and forth. Results page for my state comes up with old numbers sometimes also.

  That's interesting, thanks for posting all that detail about how you're searching.  I'll have to do some thinking about if it's something I can help with.  It doesn't really sound like a mobile thing, but more of a desktop thing.

  Be sure you don't have an ad blocker or anything like that running.  If you do, you'll need to whitelist lotterypost.com, because the mobile website does not work properly with an ad blocker.  All the ad blockers I have tested block parts of the mobile site that are required to make it work.

  How about making sure if someone is blocked then I shouldn't have to read their post?

   

  The search area is okay.  The desktop is better than the mobile.  It might be a programming issue with the other admin that does this site.

  ISO of content generation for anything.

  As far as the new mobile app I can't find anything..I try to see something past a conversation on the last board I was on and it takes me to the last conversation but then I can't look at anything else... not a blog ,lottery results  so I go back to desktop .... I would also like to see restrictions placed on members that are new or never post to keep in good standing with LP why b/c they are gaining knowledge from your site but yet I'm a gold member and cannot use lucky's one up or down but a certain amount of times unless I"m platinum you have no restrictions on members that do not post or just ghost and use the site. I feel that if it cannot be controlled that way then make it a log in site only where membership is a must . I would also like to see chat more than just one night maybe 3 times a week I know there are a few people on Sunday night but Sunday nights are not convenient for most east or west cost. Maybe messenger like someone suggested ......thanks for letting me input. I can't find anything on your new mobile app it looks nice though.
