I remember reading about the lottery prizes when the lottery came back to the New England States. The winners were elated at winning $50,000.00 But they soon became sad after the IRS contacted them.

I am sure that you have been warned about the Curse of the Lottery. Remember King Midas and what happened to his family. He turned them all into gold by touching them.
Basically what happened to Andrew Jackson "Jack" Whitaker. He lost his entire family after winning a record amount.
The Bible warns that instant riches will grow wings and fly away.
The ancient Greek Euripides said, "If the gods wish to destroy a man they make him instantly wealthy".
I am slowing my life down now and will do more of it after I win. Hiring advisers soon after winning.

I think in Oregon it is around $77 million after all taxes are paid in full or $128 million for the 30 year annuity if taxes do not change from here on out. If I am missing something please let me know I could survive off of either payout though.-weshar75

I’m excited! No fireworks but by the time of the draw I should have tickets from two states. I keep thinking how much the money will mean independence for myself and my loved ones. My poor husband has had to listen to me recite the last lines of President Thomas Whitmore’s speech as I thrust my tickets in the air:We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
We're going to live on!
We're going to survive!"
Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

l am aware of folklore & old wives tales on the "curse of the lottery" Music*. I think any jackpot winner that regrets having won all those millions & then losing it, are all self inflicted wounds.You never hear of these folks complaining about their money until it is all gone. Being ill prepared to handle millions, means you ought not to play to begin with.
Nosce te ipsum: know thyself, first.If you know you prone to being reckless with money, get a financial planner after you win, and heed the advice from the professionals. I know l will be a good steward of any fortune, why? Because l know myself.

For a moment l thought you had your lines crossed & it should have been " Do not go gentle into that good night, Rage, Rage against the dying of the light"- Dylan Thomas.

I got the following from a YouTube video, "Hire slowly" "Fire quickly". Be wise when you are hiring professional help. Are they fiduciaries with your money? Do they put your interest before theirs or their company?
With charities, I have learned that once you give your money away you will never see it again. Some believe that you will be rewarded by God or Karma but it might not be with money.
The same applies when you donate to politicians.
