To my fellow posters. Upon relocating to the Nashville area, I still continue for lottery success with purchasing scratch-off tickets and draw style such as the PB and/or the MM. The Tennessee lottery uses the RNG on a few of their games and while I am opposed to that method, I will give credit to the folks that play those games on a consistent basis. The scratch-off postings on this site are something else. There is no date that the games are started on, according to their 5 page list. The winning update is done on a weekly basis as opposed to daily. Hunting for information on the site is just that..A TRUE HUNT.
Let us start with the "how to claim" form shall we ?
http://www.tnlottery.com/howtoclaim/default.aspx
If you are claiming a prize of $600 or above ya gotta have that claim form..SOP in all states right ?? Not so fast grasshopper. You need to go get one and when I say go get one,I mean physically drive or be driven TO some place to obtain it. No claim forms (PDF or fillable PDF)are available on their website that I have seen. As the link above states, " You can obtain a claim form at ANY Lottery retailer or by calling the Player Services Hotline."
So I decide to test this statement out and call the hotline number. It's the usual prompting scenario,"If you want the numbers to the PB press such-n-such number, Cash 4 press this number"... Then it gets to the press zero for other inquiries part. So I do that and it tells me that I am the first person in the "Q"..3 minutes go past and I am still in the 1 person Q according to the voice on the other end. Then another 3 minutes go past and I am still the "first person in the Q". I decide to stop wasting my time...okay,okay, It's Wednesday morning at 10:57 AM - 11:03 AM, just how friggin-busy can you be ?.Maybe they will email me one? I didn't stay on long enough to find out, so that one is on me..............Onward we go.....
So the TN lottery has 4 places to claim that are located towards the bottom of this.. Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville.... complete with addresses and hours of operation...That's good AND.. they have a blue "MAP " button. Excellent, lets press it for each district shall we ? First up..Knoxville and it takes me to a big picture of the entire USA on MAPQUEST... Next is Chattanooga.. Opens up to the details of where it's located with surrounding streets, etc..good job MAPQUEST...Onto #3 NASHVILLE The Hdqtrs of the TN lottery... so what appears on the screen ?.. "502 Bad Gateway"... retry it, same thing, retry it on another brand new computer in the house that is 3 weeks old and it says the same thing "502 Bad Gateway".... So I try the Memphis location and it goes the the main page of Mapquest with a picture of the USA. I try it on both computers..same results..<big sigh>
The last part of this info rant of mine comes down to this part.... I know, I will go to a couple of "Lottery Retailers" like the site instructs me to do..... To be honest with all of you I have tried 2 in the last couple of days. The store owner in 1 store said, "you get those from the district office, we don't have those".This was after he went through his lottery folder that was located beside the terminal. The other store representative advised they don't have those and thought you had to "get them from the lottery office"(which happens to be Nashville for me)
They do have a checklist at the very bottom of the attached link which is available in PDF..WOOHOO...well,until you go down through it... Not really impressive nor is it that informative....
AND... you see that part where in the FAQ where you have 180 days to claim ??? That's not quite the whole story..

.SEE Powerball 3.1.6.4 A (1).......Page #22
There is no (cash or annuity)option offered at the time of purchase. Certainly none on the lottery slips themselves, so what you have is 60 days after entitled or at the prize claim..Anything after 60 days will be an annuity...
While I think I understand their meaning/intent, it also subject to interpretation for me. Does the word entitled mean verification by the lottery folks of a valid claim or does it mean from the day of the numbers drawn?...<shoulder shrug>... Guess that would require chatting with a reputable Atty to be 100% sure......oh well
Please feel free to correct my findings and let me know if I missed something
No wonder they have a "GRADE D" with "36% True Lottery Drawings" from the State Lottery Report Card from this site.
Stay positive folks and stay in the game. One of us is due
